Adine is a fantastic, homely private villa situated in a typical Tuscan stone hamlet of private homes. It is a few minutes drive from the quaint village, Lecchi in Chianti and a little further from the beautiful town Radda in Chianti. There are breathtaking views from the windows, terraces and pool area.
About 50 meters from the villa there is a large sparkling, private pool surrounded by sunbeds and umbrellas. A few steps up from the pool is a wonderful covered terrace with large barbeque and incredible views of the surrounding Chianti hills with their vineyards, olive groves and forests, in the distance you can also see the Monte Amiata.
The villa itself is up the gentle slope, part of which has wide stone steps and part is a sloped path, from the pool area. It's not possible to see the house from the pool area. Adine is completely independent and private although it is attached to other houses.

Once at the top of the slope from the pool you cross a small gravel track which provides access to the hamlet, not only for the guests of Adine but also for the other hamlet occupants. From here there is either direct access into the lower part of the house or you can follow the track around the house to the little gravelled square and main entrance.

To enter the villa from the square you cross a wonderfully large and spacious loggia furnished on one side with a comfortable angle sofa. On the other side is a table with 8 chairs. The loggia is paved in the traditional terracotta and have a ceiling of terracotta tiles and wooden beams.

Through an arched double wooden door you enter the villa. You find yourself in a large and spacious room with vaulted terracotta ceilings, typical of the traditional Tuscan farmhouses. The room is divided in two by a short wall. The first part of the room is a dining room, furnished with a lovely large wooden table that can comfortably seat 10-12 people.

Following on through terracotta framed archway into the next part of the room, there is a comfortable lounge with seating for 7 people and an open fireplace. The room is also furnished with a large flat screen TV with a decoder and dvd player.
From this room there is a door providing access to a landing from which stairs lead up and down, you take the 10 stairs to the first floor, there is a large landing where there are two high quality bathrooms, one is very spacious with a beautiful free standing bathtub with hand held shower. The other is with a shower surrounded by crystal doors, Directly ahead is a twin bedroom.
The twin bedroom is furnished with two single beds, double wardrobe, chest of drawers and a cot. Double wooden doors open onto an external staircase that leads down to the gardens. In one corner of the room is a flight of steps to another twin room at the top of the house.

Off this landing there is a double bedroom with a high antique bed frame. This bedroom is quite narrow, although quiet long and comfortable. The wardrobe for this bedroom is found on the landing. In the room is a chest of draws and arm chair. The window looks out onto pretty views of the Chianti.
From the landing area with the bathrooms the master bedroom is accessed up 7 steps. This spacious and airy room has a high, large double bed and very high ceilings. To one side is a big wardrobe and below the window is a two-seater sofa. From the window there are fantastic views of the Tuscan hills.
The twin room is the highest part of the villa. It's located a further 10 steps up from the master bedroom. It has a pitched oak and terracotta ceiling, the lowest part is approximately 2 meters high. The room is furnished with an armchair and chest of draws with built in wardrobe. From the window there are great views of the Chianti and down to the pool.
From the main living room leading down 9 steps to the lower floor of the villa you find a second dining area which is furnished with a large table that seats 8-10 people. The room has a lovely homely feeling and is graced by a large characteristic, central arch of terracotta. Also in this room is a double sofa, open fireplace and flat screen TV. To one side up 3 steps there is access to a laundry with washing machine and drier, and a large bathroom with luxury shower.

To one end of the lower floor is a large arched entrance door, from the large glass doors you can see the excellent views of the Tuscan countryside that surrounds you. The fully equipped kitchen is also found in this lower part of the villa. The kitchen is long and narrow, and has plenty of space to comfortably prepare meals. At the far end there is a little breakfast nook.
A lovely, typical Tuscan homely villa with fantastic views.

Pool Info

The inviting pool is located about 50 meters from the villa. To reach it you need to cross a small track and go down a slope and then about 25 wide steps. It's not possible to see the pool well from the house, and they have the feeling of being two slightly independent areas.

Near the pool is a lovely covered terrace, furnished for outdoor meals and with a huge barbeque. From the terrace and pool there are fantastic views of the Chianti over to the Monte Amiata, South of Siena.
The pool is 13x7 meters and open from May to September. Pool depth is1,50m all along.

Pros This was our first visit to Tuscany and i wanted a relaxing holiday with my children before my daughter headed off to start university. Adine was the most beautiful house ive stayed in really rustic and just how i imagined a tuscan villa to be like. It exceeded my expectations there was nothing that hadn't been thought off to make our stay perfect. The pool was amazing and the neighbours lovely.
Cons Nothing except that i only booked one week and wished i booked two.
Local attractions Radda was only a few minutes drive away and everyone in the town were so friendly. We got the bus from Radda to Florence one day which was only 4 euros each way well worth it . We ate at " pizza pie " one day the pizzas are amazing and ive never seen pizzas so big before. We also ate at La Bottega which was amazing both restaurants were very reasonably priced and excellant service. Nearly every day we bought from the amazing delicatessent meats cheeses and bread which is next door to pizza pie restaurant.

Pros Adine is very spacious with lots of comfortable places to sit and eat, both in and out. The master bedroom is lovely and the pool is superb. The location is hard to beat, and we say that after 8 or so previous stays in Tuscany. The kitchen is well-equipped. The views from most windows and the pool are fantastic. Very quiet at all times of the day.
Cons The bathrooms involve negotiating many stone stairs. The pool really is a good upward hike, not recommended for the unfit. Cleanliness could be better, dust, webs etc under the furniture. Beware of the washing machine, it completely destroyed a t-shirt.
Local attractions Lecchi is a short distance away with a fantastic restaurant - Malborghetto.

Pros We liked the pool, although it was further away than the pictures suggested. We liked the kitchen and the bedrooms were good sized, as were the bathrooms. It lacks a view from either its portico or from the sitting room or even the main bedroom.
Local attractions There were a few Ristorante Malborghetto in Lecchi Il Papavero in Gaiole And the Castello d' Ama close by The town of Radda is very quaint.

Pros The pool area is lovely although away from the house .
Cons We had a terrible problem with the water pressure, apparently an on going issue. We were warned on arrival but didn't quite expect to be having cold showers or in fact one morning when heading out to Florence for the day there was no water at all and so we had to have a swim to wash!!!!
Local attractions The nearby villages are all lovely and of course Sienna and Florence

Pros Following the comments regarding the beds, the owner has informed us that she has replaced all the double bed mattresses over recent years. 2 new beds and mattresses will also be replaced in the twin bedroom in the next 3 weeks. More wardrobe space has been made available to guests. New kitchen equipment has also been added.

Swallow shelves have been put in under the area where the swallows nest to prevent any mess.

Pros We liked the location very much, the villa itself with all the space and all the extras. The pool was really nice and there was plenty to enjoy the neighborhood or just to relax.
Cons The only thing we did not like were the beds. They looked nice, but were noisy and ours had just field beds under the mattress, what was very uncomfortable ? An AC would be a nice treat and umbrellas at the pool that withstand the wind. All in all Villa Adine is really beautiful and it was a pleasure staying there, we can only recommend it.
Local attractions We loved Radda, San Gimminiano ( beautiful city and a must see) and Lecchi (good for shopping, very nice people). We hiked, tooked trips and found plenty of really good restaurants near by. Also trips to Pisa and Sienna are not too far.

Pros We really enjoyed the history of the hamlet, the grounds, and the pool. Adine gave us great access to Rhadda and Lecchi for grocery shopping and dining. It also is a great location for day trips to Siena, Florence, San Gimignano, and other great locations.
Cons While the pool was great, the walk down to it is fairly strenuous. Be prepared for a climb back up to the villa.
Local attractions We had dinner at Malborghetto in Lecchi on our last night in Tuscany, and it was wonderful. We also greatly enjoyed the restaurants and sightseeing in Rhadda, as well as the pottery factories in the area.

Pros It is a beautiful house with lots of very interesting features, if a little dark inside .
Cons Unfortunately it faced the wrong way so couldn't take advantage of the sun. It wasn't very clean. Under the beds in 2 of the rooms it hadn't been hoovered. There was insufficient cutlery, insufficient tea towels and no oven gloves. May seem petty but very necessary. Also the water supply was insufficient for a family. We were told to ring the villa when we arrived. Infact the key was locked in a safe and we weren't given the code which delayed entry
Local attractions We loved both Radda and Castellina and couldn't find a bad restaurant.
