The pool area is located across a lovely well-maintained lawn to the right of the villa. The pool is a small, prefabricated pool but has the best views of the entire property. It's surrounded by sun beds and umbrellas. The garden is perfumed by lavender and various potted flowers.

The villa is entered through a large glass and cast iron, arched door. This leads into a large and airy open plan living and kitchen area. To the left of the room is the fully fitted kitchen with it's huge oven, a smaller oven, 6 gas hobs and a big fridge/freezer. The kitchen has a sturdy wooden table seating 6. The windows overlook a farm building and the pergola outside.

Directly in front of the entrance door is a second dining area. This is furnished in a modern style with a glass table and transparent chairs. This area is characteristic as it's in a large terracotta arched enclave with a glass floor over what was once the heart of the kiln. This is a very particular area of the house and allows you to admire it's original use.

On the right side of the room is the lounge, this is furnished with comfortable sofas and armchairs, a big TV with DVD player. From here there is a second glass door which leads out onto the lawn and down to the pool. From this door there are excellent views of the Tuscan countryside.

Off this spacious living area there are two corridors. The first, and smallest, leads to a big bathroom with shower and a pretty hand painted wall. A second door leads to a large bedroom with double handmade wrought iron bed, wooden chest of drawers and a wardrobe.

The second corridor is longer and provides access to a large second bathroom with a stand alone Victorian bath with hand-held shower. There is also a second bedroom off this corridor. This room is painted in the traditional Tuscany off pink and has a large double bed and wardrobe. From this room there is a door leading to a furnished terrace with good views of the Chianti hills. The ground floor layout is suitable for guests with limited mobility, access to the garden and pool is also from this level.

At the end of the corridor there are 13 travertine stairs going down to a third sleeping area. Here there is a comfortable, high quality, double sofa bed. In one corner there is also a running machine. In the room there is a glass door which remains closed however it allows you to view into the old kiln, and look up to the dining area. This room also has an external door leading to a gravel terrace area, from which you can access the garden up some steps. On either side of bedroom there are the wine cellars with wine barrels, so some farm activity can be expected occasionally.

NB The owner has a number of dogs on the estate which are kept in a self-contained kennel area 200 meters away and out of sight from the Villa. There is an automated anti barking system installed in the kennels to prevent any barking noise from the dogs disturbing guests.

There are air-conditioning units in all the rooms of the house. Air-conditioning costs extra.
Antica Fornace is on a working farm and early morning noise can be expected. Partly circling the property is a country road, it is not a busy road but cars do pass occasionally.
The property is not fenced therefore the pool area is not safe for toddlers due to the proximity of the road and the sloped land to one side.
