Belvedere di San Donato is a lovely modern villa located just 4km away from the pretty stone Chianti town of San Donato. The property is completely fenced and not only has a private, large garden but also an olive grove providing you with the true Tuscan landscape. The villa has some of the most remarkable wide open views found in Tuscany.
The pool is located below the villa and it is fenced with a gate, making it perfectly safe for groups travelling with children. From here there are wonderful views of the Tuscan countryside dotted with towns and villages. In the distance it's possible to see the Apenino mountains behind Lucca.
Belvedere di San Donato has a beautiful covered terrace, surrounded by red brick arches and wonderful views. The terrace is furnished with comfortable sofas to enjoy the cool shade. Not far from the villa is a large stone barbeque. In front of the terrace there is a table seating up to 10 people ideal to enjoy meals al fresco.
Entering the villa you pass through a small hall, into the large, spacious and very airy living area. This large room has two comfortable double sofas and a triple sofa. To the far end of the room there is a huge wooden table that seats comfortably up to 12 people. Behind the table are two large windows with pretty iron security bars.
To the right of the room is a smallish kitchen that is fully equipped with gas hobs, oven, medium size fridge with small freezer, dishwasher and a large assortment of cooking utensils. There is a window overlooking the covered terrace.
Next to the kitchen, and accessed from the living area is a single bedroom with a comfortable bed and wardrobe. The window looks out onto the amazing views that surround the villa. Completing the ground floor is a small and adequate bathroom with shower and a little laundry with washer, iron and ironing board located below the stairs.
The open stairs with stone railing lead to a internal balcony on the first floor. The balcony overlooks the lounge. Immediately at the top of the stairs there is access to a large room with three single beds. This room is completed with a wardrobe. The room has access to the external balcony and the wonderful views which can be admired from it.
From the internal balcony there is access to a double bedroom, with large wardrobe, a double bed and a single, simple sofa. This bedroom also has access to the external balcony. At the end of the internal balcony there is a bathroom with shower.
On the property at the same level as the pool below the main villa there is a spacious annex. The little cottage has a lovely paved terrace furnished with table and chairs, and a small barbeque. Immediately off the terrace is the olive grove, through which the surrounding views can be seen. The effect is as if you are in the middle of the olive grove.
Inside the annex there is a big bedroom with double bed. A separate living area with tiny kitchenette in one corner, ideal to prepare breakfast or a light meal for the occupants of the cottage. There is also a simple sofa. Completing this building is a bathroom with large shower.

Belvedere di San Donato is a comfortable modern villa with excellent access to the town of San Donato and also to the main road between Florence and Siena.
This villa is perfect for family groups.

Pool Info
Below the villa, down about 18 steep steps with a handrail, there is a large pool, ideal to relax while on holiday. The area is completely fenced. The edge of the pool is raised above the level of the ground around it. To one side is a covered pergola providing welcoming shade from the hot Tuscan days. Surrounding it are sun beds and deck chairs to soak up the warm rays and enjoy the pretty views.
At one end of the pool is a raised lily pond, it has wall of about 60cm. Inside the the water level is about 25cm. It provides a pretty and unusual addition to the pool area.
The pool is 12x6 metres and 1.20 metred deep. It is open from May to September. There are metal steps to enter it.

Nearest town
San donato in Poggio is a lovely town only 4km away. It has a selection of restaurants, a few grocery shops, bar/cafès, a bank, post office and petrol station. There is also a bus to Florence from the town. The nearest restaurant is Locanda di Pietracupa, it is about 2km away and within walking distance.

Landschaft einfach geneissen per Mountainbike, Sienna, Restaurants in San Donato waren alle sehr fein, auch der Ort an sich ist sehr herzig, Weingut Castellina ist ein Besuch wert

Chiara et Roberto sont très sympathiques. La maison est spacieuse et disposait de tout ce dont nous avions besoin dès notre arrivée (café, papier toilettes, serviettes, etc...).
La maison est éloignée des routes et donc au calme, et surplombe le très beau paysage. C'est très agréable d'être loin du bruit des villes et je le conseille à tous ceux qui voudraient se ressourcer.
La piscine est belle et change de couleur le soir. Malheureusement, la journée, nous étions en ballade et le soir, il faisait un peu trop frais pour nous baigner. Simple question de planning.
Le wifi qui a fonctionné une heure le premier soir puis plus rien. Mais cela permet aussi de se déconnecter d'Internet et de mieux se relaxer.
La pizzeria de San Donato ouverte du vendredi au dimanche soir et où vont toutes les familles des alentours.
Le restaurant "La Toppa" qui est vraiment très bon.

We particularly liked the unique natural location of the object alone and overlooking San Donato and the surrounding communities. The house was very clean and well maintained and equipped with almost everything in what you need. Furthermore, the beautiful pool and the vastness of the land. Very pleasant was the proximity to San Donato and generally easy access to the highways and motorways. All in all, "Belvedere" good value for money.
Possibly you should think about whether or not in the height of summer, the pool has to be cleaned more often and more thoroughly! Otherwise, the house was in order.
Since we lived in a group of motorcyclists at the Belvedere, we have of course taken dinner more often somewhere else. The pizza place in a tent on the outskirts of San Donato is highly recommended. The localities in the city are not bad but also for "Italy" in our opinion a bit pricey. Necessarily eat somewhere "Florentiner" steak, not cheap but awesome :-)

Die Vermieter waren sehr nett. Die Aussicht ist ganz toll. Der Pool ist groß und nachts beleuchtet. Sehr gute Sitzmöglichkeiten im Freien.

Die Besitzerin ist sehr sympatisch, freundlich und unklompliziert.Sie ist uns sogar entgegen gekommen, nachdem wir das Haus nicht auf Anhieb gefunden haben.
Das Haus liegt auf einem kleinen Hügel (Schotterstr.), von dem aus man einen atemberaubenden Blick über das Land hat. Sonntenuntergang jeden Abend inklusiv.
Das Haus ist sehr schön, bietet alles was man braucht.
Das gleiche gilt für das Poolhaus.
Es gibt sogar SKY, mit 3 deutschen Kanälen.
Das Rosenbecken (wie in der Beschreibung) ist inzwischen
ein Kinderbecken. Wirklich sehr schön. (Mittwoch kam der
Mann zum Poolreinigen)
Das Haus entspricht wirklich den Bildern. Top ruhige Lage
zum Erholen und für Kids u Hund zum zwanglosen Rumtollen.
Elektrisches Tor mit Fernbedienung.
In der weiteren Nachbarschaft Weinhändler und in Poggibonsi
(10Min mit Auto) großen Coop (Einkaufszentrum) der auch
Sonntag vormittag auf hat.
Es ist das Geld u die Reise wirklich wert, nur zum empfehlen.
Wir waren 2 Familien mit je 1 Tochter (10 u 15 Jahren)
Auch über TOSKANA ist die Buchung super informativ und
problemlos abgelaufen.
Nur zum empfehlen.
Ps Anfahrt zum Haus nicht für tiefergelegte Autos geeignet, ansonsten
kein Problem

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
