Carfini di Sopra at Carfini

Carfini di Sopra is located on the first floor of typical Tuscan stone farm building located on the edge of the Chianti. Poggibonsi is within easy reach and Castellina in Chianti is a short distance away.
The entrance to the villa is up some external Travertine stairs which lead onto a small terrace. Off this is the villa entrance and a small office which the owners use. Entering the villa there is an open plan living area. In one corner is a well equipped kitchen which includes gas hobs, a small fridge with internal freezer compartment, and an oven. In the centre of the room is a wooden table with four chairs. Against one wall is a triple sofa. The room is completed by satellite TV.
A terracotta arch leads off the back of the lounge into a small hall which provides access to a bathroom with a shower and washing machine. From the hall there is a door to the first of the two double bedrooms. This is a large spacious room, simply furnished with a large wardrobe that has some drawers and a double iron bed. The window looks out over the some farm equipment in the neighbouring yard and then onto the vineyards beyond.
The second double bedroom is accessed directly from the living area. It is also a large, bright room, simply furnished. It has an iron double bed and large wardrobe. The window which is south facing looks out to the villa terrace, then onto the passing road and the vineyards on the other side. There is an en-suite bathroom with shower.
Carfini di Sopra has a pretty private outside eating area which can be seen from the other buildings on the property. It is near the road that passes the property, so it is possible to see and hear passing cars on the road below.
The double bedrooms cannot be made into twins, however should a twin room be required an extra bed can be placed. Please indicate if you require this when booking.
There is air conditioning paid as used.

Carfini is located in the Tuscan countryside, surrounded by farmland and vineyards. Built on a family run farm which produces Chianti wine and vegetables, the villas share a pool with one other villa - La Strolla which makes it ideal for families or friends wishing to holiday together. The property is only 5km from Poggibonsi and within easy reach of both Florence and Siena.
The large pool is located 30 metres from the property. This is shared by the two villas at Carfini and with the villa opposite, La Strolla. The owner may also use it occasionally. The pool has a paved surround with plenty of loungers, tables, chairs and umbrellas. To one side there is a grassed area, planted with trees and vines.

Guests of Casa ai Carfini have access to a shared pool which is located a short distance from the villa. The pool is shared with guests of another 2 properties and the owners. This pool is built sunken pool and it is located in an elevated position with views of the Tuscan hillside. The single Roman ended shaped pool has a paved surround and plenty of loungers and umbrellas.
The pool measures 12x6 with internal steps leading down into the shallow end. There is ladder access at the deep end. The depth is 1.2 metres increasing to 1.5 metres at the deepest point. The pool is open from the 20th April until the 30th October.
Nearest town
The nearest town is Poggibonsi which is 4km away. This town has several shops and restaurants and most other amenities. Before entering into Poggibonsi there is a large PAM supermarket that is occasionally open on Sunday mornings.

We hadden last van blaffende honden 's nachts en konden daarom niet met de ramen open slapen. We hebben geen nacht kunnen doorslapen. Tevens werd er s'morgens vroeg om 7 uur al hout gehakt met de zaagmachine.
Lag La STrolla was een goede pizzeria

Nous avons aimé la localisation : situé dans le bas du Chianti, proche de Colle et San Geminiano, à 35mn de Sienne, 45mm de Florence, 1h30 d'Arezzo...
1- Hors de la propriété, il y a un chenil (c.à.d une quinzaine de chiens enfermés), on le les voit jamais, mais on les entends bien. En journée, pas de problème, mais la nuit, lorsqu'on ouvre les fenêtres pour rafraichir, c'est le concert assuré, jusqu'à tôt le matin. Gênant lorsqu'on veut s'endormir ou se rendormir.
2- Il y aurait besoin d'un ventilateur dans chaque chambre (ce qui rendrait moins nécessaire l'ouverture des fenêtres toute la nuit).

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
