This comfortably furnished country style Tuscan villa sleeps up to ten persons. Set amongst a mature well tended garden with its own private swimming pool. The property is in a great location only five minutes away from Gaiole with all the amenities a large town has to offer.

The property is surrounded by a lovely mature garden with an attractive private pool which is set in a secluded area of the garden partly screened by mature hedging and trees which are great to sit under during the heat of the day. The paved surround has plenty of sun loungers, parasols as well as a covered gazebo with armchairs and coffee table.
The villa is accessed via a set of iron gates, with a gravel driveway leading up to the house; to the right is the pool, and to the left is a covered parking area. The house is directly ahead and is arranged over three floors, the main door opens into the middle floor where there is a spacious open plan living area with a high vaulted ceiling, with sofas, fireplace and TV. The owner is very talented and examples of her needlework can be found on the soft furnishings and handmade patchwork quilts found throughout the villa.

At the far end of the main living area is a set of stone steps which lead up to a bedroom with twin beds, a wardrobe, armchair and a sofa bed. This is also the office area where the ADSL internet can be accessed. The room is open with a wrought iron balustrade separating it from the living space below although the beds cannot be seen from below.

At the bottom of the stairs to the first floor is a door on the right leading to a corridor which is where a further two bedrooms are located. The master bedroom is a lovely spacious room with a large window, there is a double bed, wardrobe and also a ceiling fan.

To the left of the master bedroom are the two bathrooms both with showers which are next door to each other. The second bedroom off this corridor is slightly smaller than the master bedroom and also has a double bed and ceiling fan.

Two steps down from the living area is the country style kitchen with a table and four chairs in the centre. The kitchen is well equipped with oven, gas hob, microwave oven, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. There is also a utility room near to the kitchen which has a washer and dryer for guests use.

A door from the kitchen opens onto a covered terrace which is surrounded by brightly planted terracotta troughs. This is furnished with a table and eight chairs; sitting here you have views over the garden.

Across the garden is a paved terrace which has a table and chairs for sixteen people, nearby there is a very large barbecue where you can prepare meals for outside entertaining. From the garden there are five steps up to a further terrace which is where the pool is located.

Stairs from the living area close to the kitchen go down to the lower part of the house. This used to be the cellar and originally where the cattle would have lived. This is beautifully furnished with exposed brickwork with a stone archway separating the living area from the kitchen. The living area has three sofas arranged around a large fireplace HD TV a piano and a more formal dining area with table and chairs and doors leading to the garden.

The country kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, six gas hobs, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and a large stone sink.

This lower floor has a further two bedrooms, the first is a small twin bedroom which is ideal for children (although the beds are full size) to the left is the bathroom with shower, and to the left of the bathroom is the second bedroom which has a double bed and a door leading to the outside, both bedrooms have ceiling fans.

Outside the property is set in a lovely mature garden with lots of brightly planted pots dotted around. There are several areas where you can sit and enjoy a meal or a glass of wine either in the sun or shade whichever you prefer.

Casa Comporata is only five minutes from the nearest grocery shop and close to the centre of Gaiole.
The owners live in the main house next door. They speak both English and Italian and are available to provide you with information about the area or any other help should you require it.

There is a neighbouring rental villa on the estate, however they do not share the gardens or pool.

Internet is available in the villa for free. Please bring your own laptop.

Pros Our week-long vacation at Casa Camporata 10 was wonderful-- the villa was beautifully decorated, including handmade quilts on the beds and Tuscan ceramics on the walls. The garden was lush and the pool was perfect for cooling off after a day of touring around all the wineries and other attractions nearby. The kitchen was great--plenty of cooking equipment and supplied spices and herbs. The location of the villa was ideal for our group--a very short walk into town where there are several very good restaurants, a coop grocery store and a great wine tasting event one evening. Also took some lovely walks around the area--especially the walk up to Barbischio, with dinner at a small fantastic restaurant (named after the poppies that were blooming along the roadside). Sue Palmer, who owns the villa and lives right next door was a warm and wonderful host--wish we could have stayed for a month!

Local attractions Ziele: Siena, San Gimignano...

We voelden ons meteen thuis.

Pros The layout was perfect for our group of nine. All at the villa was as nice (if not nicer) than the web pages showed. Working with Sue was great! The location is perfectly suited for day trips to all the major Tuscany sights!
Cons Absolutely nothing - except that we could not stay forever!
Local attractions Cooking class with chef Andrea at Badia Colto Bouno was amazing. A fantastic dinner at the villa by Michelle from Il Fiasco. We had a great bike ride day with Bike Tuscany. The Banfi Taverna dinner was once in a lifetime great. Definitely do not miss the Tuscan Feast at Castello Viccio Maggio. Of course the day trips to Florence, Siena, Montepulciano and Greve were also a blast. One last call out to LaContrade - what a gem!

Pros Beautiful and cosy house. Very spacious. The kitchen was excellently equipped. There were lots of books to read and a lot of boardgames. The garden, although small was lovely and had lots of areas you could sit and relax. The pool was a good size and has a shallow and deep end which is great for the kids. The location of the house was perfect, right in the middle of the Chianti Classico region and we managed to get a lot of sightseeing done. All in all a lovely place.
Cons Although a lovely house, Casa Camporata is let down by its lack of cleanliness. When we arrived there were cobwebs everywhere and the floors and stairs had not been cleaned properly as there was obvious dust and dirt on them. The positive thing was that the bathrooms seemed quite clean and plenty of towels were available.
Local attractions The Osteria in the little village up the hill as you drive right out the Casa is amazing! Lovely food but not cheap. Castellina is a must see!

Local attractions Radda, Siena, Greve.

Pros The location was great, good access to Florence and Sienna.
The villa itself was beautiful and really well equipped. We had everything we could possibly need, from kitchen equipment to a huge range of books to read.
The owner, Sue, was a charming and helpful hostess who made us feel very welcome and was on hand to offer advice as needed.
Cons Having to leave!
Local attractions The village of Radda was very pretty. We also enjoyed the wine tasting tour and meal at Castle Brolio. Our favourite restaurants were Il Celliere a Castganoli, La Contrade (very close to the villa), Osteria Il Papavero and for great pizza Pizza Pie in Radda.
