Gallo at Casa del Tosi

Gallo is on the ground floor of the pretty Tuscan farmhouse, Casa del Tosi. It is the largest of the villas at the property and lies between the owner's villa and Barbagianni. Above is another apartment. It's entered from the back of the property where it has a table and chairs to dine al fresco.
Inside is a living area with a marble topped wooden dining table and five chairs. Three armchairs are situated next to a small fireplace, ideal for the cooler evenings. Throughout the living area are the original terracotta floors and a ceiling of wooden beams and terracotta tiles.
A tiny kitchenette is located just off the room. It's in typical Tuscan villa style and has gas hobs and an oven. There is also a small fridge with ice compartment. Work space is limited but plenty of light is provided by the window which looks out into the property gardens.
Next to the kitchen is a bathroom with shower and a bedroom. The double bedroom has plenty of space and has a wooden chest of drawers and a large wardrobe with mirror. The window looks out to the front of the property and car park. The lounge can be accessed down a couple of steps.
Also off the lounge is the second, larger, triple bedroom which has a double bed and a single bed. The double cannot be made into a twin. There is a large wardrobe and armchair in the room. En-suite is a bathroom with shower that has no shower tray, it has a simple shower curtain.

Casa del Tosi is a pretty agriturism in a small valley between the quiet hills above Lucca. The beautifully restored farmhouse is composed of 3 apartments and the owners villa. It is on a property which makes honey and olive oil.
Next to the farmhouse is a sparkling pool with sun beds and umbrellas. A short distance away a small, bubbling stream passes through the property providing it with a relaxing atmosphere.
Passing the Casa del Tosi is a small road, some traffic can be heard however tall trees block the road from view.
The owners live in a house attached to the apartments and are available for assistance if needed.

Pool Info
The pretty swimming pool is located to one side of the villas. It's surrounded by tall trees providing plenty of protection and privacy, they also provide shade for part of the day. Further shade is given by the umbrellas dotted around the pool area. There are also plenty of sun beds to relax and enjoy the warm Tuscan sun.
Due to its protected position several banana trees are found around the pool and provide it with a slight tropical feel. The area marked off from the rest of the manicured, property gardens by a pretty wooden poled fence. This is not child safe.

Nearest town
The nearest village is San Martino in Freddana, it is about 2.5km away. Here there are some shops and a supermarket. There is also a petrol station, post office, bank and several restaurants. There is also a good restaurant called La Collina located in Lopellia, 3km away.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
