FAQ
Casa Fede is a lovely, country style villa just a short distance from Greve in Chianti. It overlooks the hill top Tuscan village, Montefiorale where there is a restaurant. From this typical Tuscan stone villa there are incredible views of the Tuscan countryside covered in a patchwork of olive groves, vineyards and forests.

The villa is on sloped grounds. The pool is located to one side above the main building. It is completely fenced with a gate that can be locked. Around the pool a several sun-beds and umbrellas, it's surrounded by lovely olive trees and has wonderful views of the Chianti hills to one side.

The property is composed of a main building and a cottage, known as the Granaio. Next to the Granaio is a furnished terrace covered with a pergola. Around the villa there are several other terraces. All are furnished with table and chairs and have wonderful views of the hills and of Montefiorale.

Inside the split level Granaio there is a double bedroom on the first floor. It is furnished with an iron double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and an armchair. There is a ceiling fan and an airconditioning unit in the room. The floor is tiled with typical Tuscan terracotta. Large double glass doors lead out onto a terrace which is furnished with a couple of deck chairs and a table with chairs. Montefiorale can be seen clearly across the small valley. The floor is completed by a bathroom with tub, which has both a shower head and a handheld shower.

The ground floor of the Granaio can be accessed by internal stairs or externally by some steps that lead down next to the pergola covered terrace. On the ground floor there is a large bedroom with twin beds set up as a double. This room can be made into a twin on request. There is a walkin cupboard with hanging space, a chest of drawers, and a couple of armchairs in the room. Glass double doors lead outside to a small terrace.

From this room wooden door lead down a few steps into a double bedroom. The room is furnished with two armchairs, one on either side of the bed, a chest of drawers and writing desk. Large arched glass windows provide plenty of light. Off the room is a bathroom with tub that has a shower head and a handheld shower.

The main house has a covered terrace graced by large arches directly in front of the main entrance. On this terrace there are several comfortable sofas, and a large iron table with marble top and iron chairs. From here are wonderful views of Montefiorale.

Passing between the main house and the Granaio there is a gravel path which leads to an upper terrace, also furnished with a marble toped table and iron chairs. To one side is a stone barbeque and pizza oven, facing this is a wooden bench.

Off this terrace is the kitchen which is a lovely room, in a tradition Tuscany country style. It has a large heavy wooden table with chairs in the centre of the room. Along two walls are the kitchen units with marble worktops and sink. To one side are gas hobs, an oven and double fridge with separate freezer. Completing the room is a fireplace.

Passing through a small hall where there is some storage space there is access to a large open plan room, which has typical Tuscan floors with terracotta tiles and the ceiling of wooden beams and terracotta tiles. The room is furnished with a large wooden table, plenty of chairs and several other antique wooden pieces of furniture. A large arched picture window provides plenty of light and a wonderful view of the valley and hills.

To the far end of the room is a large glass door leading out to the barbeque area and terrace. Below the stairs to the first floor is a small reading corner with armchair and a large choice of books. Opposite the glass door are several steps down to a guest toilet and the main entrance with covered terrace.

Passing the dining table and under a large arch there is a cosy sitting area. It has a lower roof than the rest of the living area which together with the large comfortable sofas and armchairs gives the room a warm snug feeling. The far wall of the room has a TV with a collection of DVDs and a well stocked bookcase. A large window looks out at the views of the Tuscan hills.

Passing the front door and continuing downstairs there is a small hall with laundry area. To one side is a bathroom with shower. To the other is a simple bedroom furnished with a double bed, painted wardrobe and chest of drawers. The floor is paved with terracotta tiles and there is a window looking out at the views. This is a ground floor room which remains cool in the warm summer months, there is no airconditioning in this bedroom.

Going upstairs from the dining area there is a landing with armchair and wardrobe, off which there are two bedroom. The first bedroom is a double room with handpainted matching wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside tables. In one corner is a comfortable armchair. The windows look out to the views to the front of the villa. The room has a pitched roof with wooden beams and terracotta tiles. Off the room is a large bathroom with a chest of drawers, and bathtub with both a shower and a handheld shower. There is air-conditioning in the room.

The second bedroom on the first floor is the large master bedroom, which has a small study area where there is a desk with Internet access. To one side is a big bathroom with tub that has a shower and handheld shower. Passing under an arch is the sleeping area which has a large double bed and two armchairs. The room is furnished with a wardrobs and chest of drawers. Three large glass doors provide access to a terrace which has a couple of sun-beds and a small table with chairs, that looks out the fantastic views of the Chianti to the front of the villa. I went on holiday with my family and we range from 60 years to 2 years so finding a villa to suit all our needs was proving to be quite tricky. When I found your website I just felt a sense of relief

I can't be more pleased with the service To-Tuscany provided. Dick Calabro was especially helpful answering all of my pre-trip questions in a most helpful and timely fashion.

I like To Tuscany, partly because it has a tremendous range of villas, and partly because (unlike many companies) it has an excellent website that provides what you really want when choosing a villa.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
