from 2552 US Dollar to 4034 US Dollar per week in 2010
up to 6 people - bedrooms - 3 bathrooms
Private PoolOverall impression: Very pleased - exactly what was promised. However one small detail - very little crockery, cutlery and glasses available - for five of us staying everything had to be washed immediately instead of waiting until the dishwasher was full. Also a tray would be really helpful for carrying snacks etc down to the pool.
Highlights: Obviously the weather !! Seems it was bad everywhere else. Castellina in Chianti is a fab location and it was a bonus to be staying so close to the village. Also Francesco was a fantastic help and very approachable. He saved my skin with a car problem I had !!
Unpleasant surprises: No. We will definitely be back.

Overall impression: Excellent location for the area with easy access to all local points of interest. Castellina provided all necessary facilities and shopping. Some really nice restaurants in village and nearby. Villa itself, while part of the main house, was sufficiently private in most respects (some footstep noise from above ground-floor bedroom). It was basically furnished inside; exterior furniture was generally good, particularly at the excellent pool, although the table immediately outside the villa was too high for the chairs (or the chairs were too low for the table!). There could have been more glasses/crockery as we had to do a lot of washing up and make use of the dishwasher frequently. A tray or 2 would be most beneficial for carting stuff outside. A 4th table tennis bat would also have been good! Finally, some more pillows in all bedrooms would be welcome. Property owner and agent were most hospitable and made us feel welcome. Excellent chef/assistant (Andrea from Fiasco) provided a very nice meal/service on one night.
Some changes to note in instructions:
1.Castellina Coop supermarket is now open all year on Wednesdays (and
also opens on Sunday during Summer).
2.Please include location/contact number of local doctor and hospital
(see surprises below)
3.Suggest include a note in the driving directions that part of route is
on a toll road (even if it only cost 60 cents!)
Highlights: Outstanding scenery, great food and wine, wonderful ancient towns and villages close by.
Unpleasant surprises: One party member was stung by a scorpion that had crawled into her bed one morning..
