Casanuova is located in a typical hamlet of Italian residents surrounded by vineyards and olive groves of the Bencini family who produce wine and olive oil. The hamlet is in the centre of the Chianti Classico wine region and has easy access to the Chianti towns while providing you with a countryside position ideal for pretty walks.
This villa is divided into two parts, one sleeps 10 people and the other sleeps 8 to 10 people. When renting Casanuova you are renting both parts of the property and have access to various terraces and a private pool which overlooks the Tuscan countryside.
The first part of the villa is located in the centre of the hamlet, a short 20 metre walk from the second part where the pool is located. This part has its own fully equipped kitchen, dining area for 12 people and small lounge on the ground floor while on the first floor there is a lounge with large windows providing excellent views of the rolling vine and forest covered hills of the Chianti. The lounge is equipped with Sat TV and a DVD player.
On the first and second floors there are the 5 bedrooms, each tastefully decorated with antiques and comfortable beds. Three of the bedrooms are doubles and two are twins. The rooms have terracotta floors and the typical ceilings with wooden beams. There are also 5 bathrooms in this section of the villa, each bathroom has either a shower or tub.
Outside the kitchen and dining area there is a large sunny terrace ideal for outdoor meals. From the terrace a short walk takes you to the second section of the property which is on the edge of the hamlet and has immediate access to the private pool. This part of the villa is made up of two interconnecting apartments, each with its own kitchen equipped with a good selection of utensils, fridge/freezer, toaster, gas hob, oven, Italian and American coffee makers and dishwasher.
There are two lounge areas in the villa, each with Sat TV and a DVD player. On the ground floor there is a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower. The bedroom overlooks the swimming pool and surrounding fields.
The other 3 bedrooms are on the first floor, each with its own en-suite bathroom with shower. Two of these rooms have double beds and one is with twin beds.
The nearest restaurant and shop are in Lecchi in Chianti, about 5 minutes drive away.
The twins can be made into a double on request when booking. If you do not request it the villa will be laid out as described above.
The first section of this property is the largest and in the center of the little typical Tuscan hamlet.
High-speed wireless internet access available for an additional fee of 35 Euros per week. Please bring your own laptop.

Pool Info
Although there are several houses in the hamlet only this villa has use of the swimming pool. It is located on a lovely paved terrace close to the second section of the property.
Surrounding the pool are sun beds and umbrellas for you to use while enjoying the excellent views that you have from the pool area.
The pool is 6x12 meters and open from May to September.
Nearest town
The nearest grocery store to Casanova di Ama is 5 minutes away, in the town of Lecchi in Chianti. Here there is a shop, restaurant and bar. Other nearby towns for shopping are Radda and Gaiole, which are both about 15 minutes drive away.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
