Annamaria at Casanuova di Ama

Located at the end of the pretty Tuscan hamlet just after the cellars of a local wine producer, Annamaria is a comfortable fully equipped villa. It is laid out on two floors and is perfect for 6 people.
You enter the villa into a cozy lounge with Sat TV and a DVD player from which you pass through an arch into the kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped with a good selection of utensils, fridge/freezer, toaster, gas hob, oven, Italian and American coffee makers and dishwasher. There is also a traditional fireplace in the kitchen. An external door leads from the kitchen out to the back of the villa and down to the pool area.
From the lounge there are some stairs to the first floor. There is also a double internal door that leads to the neighbouring villa, Laura; it is left unlocked only if you rent both properties. The layout of this intercommunicating doorway has been well planned so that you have total privacy and are not disturbed by your neighbours.
The first floor consists of 3 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. There are two double rooms and one twin room. Two of the rooms overlook the pool area and then down the valley and onto the vine covered hills beyond. The bathrooms all have showers.
The twin can be made into a double on request when booking. If you do not request it the villa will be laid out as described above.
High-speed wireless internet access available for an additional fee of 35 Euros per week. Please bring your own laptop.

A 14th century Roman-style chapel marks the entrance to the idyllic village of Casanuova di Ama. The village itself is comprised of a small cluster of houses surrounded by the vineyards of Casanuova di Ama, the wine and oil-producing farm of the marvelous Bencini family. Centered between the medieval towns of Radda and Gaiole in Chianti, Casanuova di Ama is an easy 1-hour drive to Florence and a mere 25 minutes to Siena.
The hamlet has several local residents however they do not use the large swimming pool which is for use only by 3 villas. The pool is in a lovely sunny position with excellent views of the vine covered hills and valley below.
This pretty little hamlet is a few minutes drive from Lecchi in Chianti, a village which has a good restaurant, small shop and wine bar/cafe. Also nearby there is one of the five main Chianti towns, Radda in Chianti, which is the perfect place to spend an afternoon taking in the local atmosphere. This town has all amenities. Casanuova di Ama has excellent views from its hillside position. It is also ideally located in the beautiful countryside so that you can take many interesting walks through the vineyards and olive groves that surround the hamlet.
Pool Info
Although there are several houses in the hamlet only three of the villas share the swimming pool. It is located on a lovely paved terrace close to the two smaller villas.
Surrounding the pool are sunbeds and umbrellas for you to use while enjoying the excellent views that you have from the pool area.

Nearest town
The nearest grocery store to Casanova di Ama is 5 minutes away, in the town of Lecchi in Chianti. Here there is a shop, restaurant and bar. Other nearby towns for shopping are Radda and Gaiole, which are both about 15 minutes drive away.

The property closely matched the information and photos shown on the web site. The bedrooms were spacious with immaculate en suites. Our pool was beautiful and the views over the vineyards were stunning - especially at sunset.
The lack of thick curtains made dawn wakenings obligatory until we draped blankets and towels over the windows. The bedrooms also lacked a chest of drawers for smaller items of clothing.
Radda was a real gem with its shops and restaurants. We also enjoyed seeing the leaning tower in the flesh, going to the Uffizi and watching the 'Barrel Rolling' race in Montelpuciano. San Gimignano was a special place for me and my daughter - lots of small craft shops and jewellery. Would definitely recommend booking major museums/attractions in advance on-line to avoid the queues.

Geräumiger Wohn-, Essbereich. Gepflegte Außenanlage incl. Pool.
Sehr genau abgezählte Bestecke, Teller, Tassen.
Es fehlte eine größere el. Kaffeemaschine. Defekte Glühbirnen. Fenster lassen sich nicht verdunkeln.
Sehr zentral gelegen, aber leider z.T. längere Anfahrten zu div. Zielen.
Die in der Hausinformation vorgeschlagenen Gaststätten waren alle gut.

maison confortable fidèle au descriptif fait par "to toscane"
maison agréable et fonctionnelle( piscine barbecue salon de jardin etc...) et bien située pour découvrir la Toscane
manque d 'ustensile et matériel de cuisine pour 6 personnes.Un petit lecteur CD et un fauteuil supplémentaire seraient les bien venus.

Our first week spent at Villa Gallo Nero was wonderful. The villa was way beyond our expectations -- a beautiful, well-appointed home that provided ample space for our group of seven in a spectacular setting. We appreciate all the special touches you've put into this property to give it all its lovely character as well as creature comforts for its guests. And by the way, Daniela provided a very enjoyable tasting experience in her garden which capped our visit perfectly.

Overall impression: Good accommodation, bit cold inside to begin with, but then weather improved. We were lucky enough to have all of the pool area to ourselves, not sure what it would have been like if the other two villas had also been in use.

Overall impression: Lovely accomodation. Pool was great! Nice and spacious. The neighbours were lovely and friendly! (Our 18 month old got to know them all! ) It was great being next to the vineyard and being able to sample and purchase some wines!

We all loved our experience at Villa Gallo Nero. I found you on the internet and thought the web site was very good. The pictures and descriptions were wonderful and the villa lived up to our expectations. I thought the starter packets were a good idea but would reccommend that you substitute orange juice for the pineapple juice and not have such huge packages of sugar. There was plenty left at the villa from other guests and the stock just will keep growing. I don’t think that many people would use that much sugar in a week.
The directions for the washer weren’t clear and it would have been nice to know that the wash and rinse cycles take a couple of hours. l thought it was broken!
I gave your email address to a couple I met on the plane because Villa Gallo Nero is a real treasure and a wonderful vacation value. My highlights were hiking, the chef’s dinner, and Dannella!

I like To Tuscany, partly because it has a tremendous range of villas, and partly because (unlike many companies) it has an excellent website that provides what you really want when choosing a villa.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
