FAQ
Laura is a pretty villa perfect for two people, although it sleeps up to four people. It is located at the end of a hamlet of mostly local residents, which includes a wine producer who will be happy to show you her cellars and allow you to taste her wines.

You enter the villa into the kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge/freezer, oven, gas hobs, a large variety of cookware and glassware, a dishwasher and an Italian and American coffee maker.

From the kitchen you enter the comfortable living area that has a fireplace, Sat TV and a DVD player. There is also a double internal door that leads to the neighbouring villa, Annamaria, it is left unlocked only if you rent both properties. The layout of this intercommunicating doorway has been well planned so that you have total privacy and are not disturbed by your neighbours.

From the lounge you access the double bedroom that overlooks the swimming pool at the back of the villa and the surrounding vine and olive grove covered fields. There is also a bathroom with shower.

There is no private terrace but a shared furnished area at the poolside.

What were the highlights of your holiday? Traveling around to nearby villages, eating and drinking at local towns. Panzano wine festival was on when we were there and it was great. Loved Montalcino. After San Gimignano- which was overrun with tourists,- I know we are also tourists ...

A 14th century Roman-style chapel marks the entrance to the idyllic village of Casanuova di Ama. The village itself is comprised of a small cluster of houses surrounded by the vineyards of Casanuova di Ama, the wine and oil-producing farm of the marvelous Bencini family. Centered between the medieval towns of Radda and Gaiole in Chianti, Casanuova di Ama is an easy 1-hour drive to Florence and a mere 25 minutes to Siena.

The hamlet has several local residents however they do not use the large swimming pool which is for use only by 3 villas. The pool is in a lovely sunny position with excellent views of the vine covered hills and valley below.

This pretty little hamlet is a few minutes drive from Lecchi in Chianti, a village which has a good restaurant, small shop and wine bar/cafe. Also nearby there is one of the five main Chianti towns, Radda in Chianti, which is the perfect place to spend an afternoon taking in the local atmosphere. This town has all amenities. Casanuova di Ama has excellent views from its hillside position. It is also ideally located in the beautiful countryside so that you can take many interesting walks through the vineyards and olive groves that surround the hamlet.

Pool Info

Although there are several houses in the hamlet only three of the villas share the swimming pool. It is located on a lovely paved terrace close to the two smaller villas.

Surrounding the pool are sunbeds and umbrellas for you to use while enjoying the excellent views that you have from the pool area.
The pool is 6x12 meters and open from May to September.

Nearest town

The nearest grocery store to Casanova di Ama is 5 minutes away,  in the town of Lecchi in Chianti. Here there is a shop, restaurant and bar. Other nearby towns for shopping are Radda and Gaiole, which are both about 15 minutes drive away.

What were the highlights of your holiday? Traveling around to nearby villages, eating and drinking at local towns. Panzano wine festival was on when we were there and it was great. Loved Montalcino. After San Gimignano- which was overrun with tourists,- I know we are also tourists but it was so commercial it was hard to admire the beauty of the place. We just wanted to get out. it was such a pleasure to be in a quiet little town where you could really admire how beautiful it was in such a fantastic spot.
What was your overall impression of the accommodation?    Very spacious, clean and tidy. Bed was so comfy. The kitchen could have had a few more items for cooking. There were lots of cutlery and crockery but cooking gear was fairly sparse. There was no metal spatula/egg flip which made getting eggs out of pan a bit difficult. If we had cooked there more often it would have been quite frustrating but then I wasn't really there to cook. However a couple of bowls and a small saucepan wouldn't go astray. We also missed having an outdoor area off the house. I know we could go down to the pool but it would have been nice to step out onto a verandah - have a drink, dinner and admire the magic view. Instead you felt a bit couped up in there. We would look for this in accommodation when we next go. These were really small things though as it was all very nice. Shower was great, laundry facilities also and the pool was cold but good and everything was so clean.
Did you have any unpleasant surprises during your stay with us? No - other than Italian (perhaps) drivers on occasion being on my side of the road on a corner.
Do you have any other comments regarding the accommodation or service? No

Our first week spent at Villa Gallo Nero was wonderful.  The villa was way beyond our expectations -- a beautiful, well-appointed home that provided ample space for our group of seven in a spectacular setting.  We appreciate all the special touches you've put into this property to give it all its lovely character as well as creature comforts for its guests.  And by the way, Daniela provided a very enjoyable tasting experience in her garden which capped our visit perfectly.
Linda (Accommodation: Villa Gallo Nero)

Overall impression: Good accommodation, bit cold inside to begin with, but then weather improved. We were lucky enough to have all of the pool area to ourselves, not sure what it would have been like if the other two villas had also been in use.
Highlights: Beautiful location, scenery, local villages/towns e.g. Lecchi & Radda.
unpleasant surprises: No
Matthew (Accommodation: Annamaria)

Overall impression: Lovely accomodation. Pool was great! Nice and spacious. The neighbours were lovely and friendly! (Our 18 month old got to know them all! ) It was great being next to the vineyard and being able to sample and purchase some wines!
Unpleasant surprises: Unfortunately the TV and the Extractor fan weren't working for the first few days. (One of our party managed to fix them after a few days though)
Deirdre (Accommodation: Annamaria)

Sorry it has taken this long for a response to your questions.  We had a life crisis here soon after our arrival home, and have been unavailable for a while.  I want you to please pass this along to the owners of the villa.
We had a spectacular time!!!!  Everything far exceeded our expectations!!
We will defiantly be using your service again, and may even stay at the same villa if available.  We really had a nice time!!  Thank you so much again for everything you did to make our holiday as successful as it was.
Mike (Accommodation: Villa Gallo Nero)

We all loved our experience at Villa Gallo Nero. I found you on the internet and thought the web site was very good. The pictures and descriptions were wonderful and the villa lived up to our expectations. I thought the starter packets were a good idea but would reccommend that you substitute orange juice for the pineapple juice and not have such huge packages of sugar. There was plenty left at the villa from other guests and the stock just will keep growing. I don’t think that many people would use that much sugar in a week.
The directions for the washer weren’t clear and it would have been nice to know that the wash and rinse cycles take a couple of hours. l thought it was broken!
I gave your email address to a couple I met on the plane because Villa Gallo Nero is a real treasure and a wonderful vacation value. My highlights were hiking, the chef’s dinner, and Dannella!

Wonderful!!!
The village aspect of the location, and the beautiful views. Daniella and Sabina were very accommodating, and the twins were enchanting.

I went on holiday with my family and we range from 60 years to 2 years so finding a villa to suit all our needs was proving to be quite tricky. When I found your website I just felt a sense of relief

I like To Tuscany, partly because it has a tremendous range of villas, and partly because (unlike many companies) it has an excellent website that provides what you really want when choosing a villa.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
