Casa Rosara

Casa Rosara is a lovely typical Puglian villa, found less then 1 kilometre from the historical centre of Ostuni, which sits on the hill behind the property. Casa Rosara is divided into two buildings, a main house with two bedrooms and a self contained cottage for two.
There is a pretty pool with magnificent views of the Adriatic coastline. It is surrounded by a simple garden dotted with ancient olive trees and cactus. To one side of the pool is a traditional stone gazebo with benches. At the far end of the garden, near the pool, there is a covered dining area with bbq and a pizza oven.
Both the main villa and the cottage have terraces furnished with a table and chairs. Between the two there is a sunny terrace with a large majestic olive tree in the centre. The main house also has a second terrace which looks out towards the coast. The entire property is done in local stone, with white washed walls.
The main building is entered through a glass door into a comfortable lounge with fireplace. To the right, under an arch, there is a dining table which seats up to 6 people.
On the other side of the room is an arch leading to the kitchen. It is a narrow, small kitchen furnished with gas hobs, a dishwasher and a fridge with freezer. A glass door provides access to the central terrace.
Passing the dining area there are two bedroom and a bathroom with shower at the end of the room. The first bedroom is a double. It is a spacious room with a wooden double bed, writting desk and chair, and a wardrobe. A glass door provides access to the gardens.
The second bedroom is a twin room, it is a smaller room. It can be made into a double if requested when booking. In the room is a wardrobe.
Across the terrace is the small cottage. Passing through the glass doors there is an open plan living area with a small kitchenette in one corner. The kitchen is equipped with gas hobs, and a fridge with freezer. A comfortable sofa and coffee table complete the room.
To one side is a small hall off which is the bathroom with shower and at the end a spacious double bedroom. It is furnished in a tasteful modern style with a large wardrobe and chest of drawers. Glass doors provide access to the terrace.
It's about a 10minute walk to Ostuni centre.
The double rooms cannot be made into twins. If you require the twin room set up as a double please request this when booking.

Pool Info
In the well maintained garden There is a fantastic pool of an irregular shape in the villa gardens which are dotted with cactus and olive trees. Around it is a pretty white stone deck with sunbeds that look out to the incredible view of the Adriatic coast line.
To one side of the pool is a stone gazebo, typical of Puglia. The benches have comfortable cushions. This is the perfect place to admire the views while relaxing the cool shade. The pool is open from May to October. It is 10x10 metres and 0.5-2 metres deep.
Nearest town
Ostuni is the nearest town. It is about a 10minute walk from the villa. There are many restaurants, shops and other amenities. About a 40 minute drive away is Brindisi, a large town with all amenities.

I like To Tuscany, partly because it has a tremendous range of villas, and partly because (unlike many companies) it has an excellent website that provides what you really want when choosing a villa.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
