Its almost time for everyone in Italy to head home for the holidays and the air is buzzing with excitement and merriment.

The Italians have a saying "Natale con i tuoi, Pasqua con chi vuoi" - "Christmas with your family, Easter with whoever you like". The roads are particularly busy at Christmas as everyone tries to fulfil this tradition of being with their family.

There are Christmas markets in most of the towns which are filled with people looking for traditional decorations and presents and everyone is still in a happy mood despite the economy!

This month we have an update on our Photocompetition and links to visit all of the entries and to see those photos going through to a voting system.

We also have a snapshot of one of our new hamlets offering Thursday arrivals - a great way to reduce your travel costs as discounts are often available for transport from Monday-Thursday.

Dont forget that 2012 prices and availability for our Villas and Apartments are now online on our website and dont forget to keep in touch with us on Facebook and Twitter.

2011 PHOTOCOMPETITION NEWS


Giostra dei Saracino
Last years winning entry - Giostra Dei Saracino by Jim Hartman
After lots of 'last minute' entries into our To Tuscany 2011photocompetition, by the closing date we had 58 people submit over 240 photographs in total.
We have chosen one photo from each person who entered (from their maximum of 5 submissions) and these are now loaded on the To Tuscany website ready for the next stage of the competition - the public vote!
The photos are displayed on a special page on our website (click here) and between 1st January 2012 and 6th February 2012, voting buttons will be available for everyone to decide which photo they like the best. (The photos are loaded in alphabetical order according to the entrants first name).

At the end of the voting period (and subject to scrutiny of the voting to make sure there are not multiple votes from the same people), the top 5 photos will be decided and prizes will be allocated accordingly.

In case you have forgotten, the prizes are as follows:

First prize wins a top of the range compact digital camera or a voucher for 250 Euros off a 2012 To Tuscany holiday.
Second and Third place will each receive a compact digital camera.
Consolation prizes will be awarded to the 4th and 5th place entries.
(There are no cash alternatives for the prizes awarded)

We are very excited about the 'public vote' and look forward to revealing the winners next year!

INTRODUCING BORGO I VICELLI - OUR NEW HAMLET WITH A THURSDAY ARRIVAL DAY


Borgo i Vicelli Located just 12km outside of Florence, Borgo I Vicelli is an exciting new hamlet which comprises 3 buildings - 6 apartments are spread between two of the buildings and the third building belongs to the owners. Two of the apartments have 4 bedrooms - ideal for larger families!
The 18 metre x 9 metre swimming pool is open from May to October and is fenced for safety. At the hamlet you will also find a Wellness Centre - with sauna, jacuzzi and relaxation area - and an entertainment room with table football and a billiard table.
Borgo i Vicelli poolLocally there are a number of restaurants but with Florence on your doorstep, the possibilities for eating out and entertainment are endless! You are even able to take a regular local bus service from outside the hamlet, making it even easier to visit Florence.
The Thursday arrival/departure day means that you can take advantage of cheaper flights or ferry tickets which are often available for Monday-Thursday travel.
We are expecting this new hamlet to sell well, so why not secure your travel dates early?!
