The nearest town is Montelupo Fiorentino which is 3km from the villa. Here you will find a choice of restaurants, supermarket, grocers, bank, pharmacy and a post office. The town of Montelupo Fiorentino is famous for its high quality painted ceramics. Every year around the 22nd to the 30th June (please check dates beforehand) there is a ceramics festival with the town's inhabitants dressing in period costume. The Castle of Montelupo is the remains of a castle on top of a hill overlooking the town, The Palazzo Pretorio at the foot of the castle houses the ceramics museum inside there are also some 15th century frescoes. The Frescobaldi tower of Montelupo was originally built to control the river traffic and now houses a museum.
