Ciliegio at Concadoro

Ciliegio is one of the larger villas at Concadoro. It has a large terrace furnished with a table, chairs and an umbrella, ideal to dine al fresco. From here there are lovely views across the estate vineyards and onto the Tuscan hills beyond.
On entering there is a spacious living room with high ceilings of wooden beams and typical terracotta tiles. To one side is a large open traditional Tuscan fireplace. In the center of the room is a wooden table with chairs for dining and to one side a 3 seater sofa.
To the back of the room, passing under a terracotta arch, there is the fully equipped kitchen. It has gas hobs, a dishwasher, fridge with freezer and oven. There is not a large amount of work surface.
Through a low door there is access to a lounge which also has a high wood and terracotta ceiling. It is furnished with a triple sofa and two armchairs, there is also a flatscreen TV. Glass doors lead out to the terrace and provide light to the room. To one side there is also a interconnecting door to the villa Pesco should guests want a larger villa.
From the entrance lovely worn stone stairs lead to the first floor where there are two bedrooms. At the top of the stairs is a small hall off which there is a bathroom with shower and two bedrooms. The first is a double bedroom done in a lovely warm yellow colour. It is furnished with a large wardrobe and a chest of drawers.
Across the hall is another double bedroom which can be set up as a twin bedroom if requested when booking. This room is also furnished with a large wardrobe and chest of drawers. Both these rooms are spacious and have the typical Tuscan ceiling of terracotta tiles and wooden beams.
The final bedroom is a single loft bedroom, it is up a wooden staircase from the hall. To one side, down a couple of steps, there is a small bathroom with shower en-suite to this bedroom. From the small arched windows there are fantastic views of the Tuscan countryside.
There is a barn to one side of the terrace however this is not rented.
Ideally positioned with lovely views of the vineyards and Tuscan countryside.

Ciliegio at Concadoro
Location address: Castellina in Chianti - Siena
Concadoro is a wonderfully well maintained working farm which produces oil and Chianti wine. The property is composed of the owners villa and about 400meters away from it are the five rental apartments.
To one side of the property, a short walk away from the apartments. It has pretty views of the wine estate with its vineyards and olive groves, then onto the forested Chianti hills beyond. Around the pool is a lovely sundeck to enjoy the warm Tuscan sun.
The well restored property of Concadoro is a single building housing all 5 apartments. Surrounding the entire building is a large paved terrace, on which each apartment has its own private table with chairs and umbrella. These outside eating areas are not secluded and can easily see their neighbours.
This lovely Tuscan farm is just a short distance from a Chianti road between Poggibonsi and Castellina in Chianti. This road is at a higher level than the buildings. Some noise can be heard from the occasional cars that pass.
Pool Info
The pool is a short walk away from the apartments. It is a large pool surrounded by a lovely paved sun deck dotted with sun beds and umbrella from where the wonderful views of the property vineyards, olive groves and the forested hills beyond can be admired.
The pool is 16x6 meters and 1.2 meters deep. Between these two there is a lovely water feature. It is open from May to October and is used only by the apartments of Concadoro.
Nearest town
Concadoro is about 7km from Castellina in Chianti, on of the 5 main Chianti towns. In this beautiful town there are several shops and restaurants to choose from. Approximately 1km from the property there is a good restaurant 'Il Pestello', although it's possible to walk to the restaurant it is best to drive due to the narrow road.

Das Haus, die schöne Aussicht sowie der neu gebaute Pool direkt beim Haus, obwohl die Arbeiten an diesem augenscheinlich noch nicht ganz abgeschlossen waren. Das kühle Klima der großen, hohen Räume waren insofern sehr wohltuend, da Ende Juli zumindest in der zweiten Wochenhälfte sehr hohe Temperaturen herrschten. Die Lage des Hauses im Hinblick auf Tagesausflüge (San Gimignano, Siena, Volterra) ist sehr gut.
Die Ausstattung der Küche war mangelhaft - keine Schüsseln, Eierbecher, gute Messer etc. Kochen war nur eingeschränkt möglich. Wenig Ablagemöglichkeiten im Bad. Die Zimmertüren klemmten. Der Gartentisch war für ein komplettes Essen etwas zu klein. Am neuen Pool fehlten noch die Sonnenschirme.

la nouvelle piscine = heureusement! Car l'ancienne était située bien trop loin!!! et la proximité de Castellina + la vue. le confort des lits.
le matériel dans la cuisine largement insuffisant, ainsi que le manque de place pour cuisiner = il faudrait installer un ilot central et il faut plus de vaisselle : des plats pour le four, des saladiers, des bols... la déco = moyen, triste, trop rustique! la table de jardin trop petite. les portes de chambre qui ne ferment pas complètement! la 2ème salle de bain tout en haut pas pratique et la petite chambre trés monacale.
le café-restaurant à 100 mêtres et la Tratoria La Torre à Castellina. Le photographe = Andrea RONTINI.
Il manque une location de Vespa.

Das Anwesen ist wunderschön gelegen und bietet einentraumhaften Blick über die Region. Trotz der oberhalb des Hauses gelgenen Straße, die an den Wochenenden sehr stark von Motorradfahrern frequentiert ist, war die Ruhe beeindruckend. Der Empfang durch Alessio war sehr herzlich und bei Rückfragen während unseres Aufenthaltes bekammen wir immer schnelle Hilfe.
Ciliego in Concadoro ist ein toller Ort um von der Hektik abzuschalten.

Was waren die Highlights Ihres Urlaubs? Für unseren Sohn war es sicherlich das Highlight im Turmzimmer eine Nacht gemeinsam mit einer Fledermaus zu verbringen. Sie ist durch das offene Fenster hineingeflogen und flatterte bis zum Morgen durch den Turm. Dann verschwand sie und kam nie mehr wieder.
Wie war Ihr Gesamteindruck der Unterbrungung? SEHR SCHÖN!! Das gesamte Haus ist scheinbar gerade ganz neu renoviert worden und alles wohnlich und stilvoll ausgewählt.Zur Begrüßung stand ein hauseigener Wein, Essig und Olivenöl auf dem Tisch. Der Verwalter hat uns voller Stolz die Wohnung gezeigt und alles erklärt. Die Küche hatte noch einen riesigen alten Pizzaofen und großen Kamin. Zwei Schlafzimmer sind gemütlich groß und das Turmzimmer hat etwas heimeliges (dazu mehr unter Highlights). Oberhalb des Hauses verläuft zwar die Strada de Chianti Classico, diese wird aber an Wochentagen erstaunlich wenig befahren und stört überhaupt nicht. Auf der grossen Terassse konnten wir ungestört übers Tal schauen und hatten am Vormittag einen kleinen schattenspendenden Olivenbaum. Für die pralle Sonne gab es zwar einen Sonnenschirm, aber bei 39°C nützt auch der nichts mehr. Der Weg zum Swimmingpool am Haupthaus war immer ein kleiner Ausflug und viele Gäste nutzten hierfür sogar ihr Auto. Wir sind immer zu Fuß den Berg hinauf und haben immer genügend Liegestühle für uns Fünf gefunden. Das ist durchaus eine Adresse, zu der wir sicher noch einmal reisen werden.

Nous venons de rentrer du domaine de Concadoro à Castellina in Chianti, et nous sommes encore sous le charme du paysage de la Toscane, l'hébergement royal et l'accueil, tous prévenants (merci à Alessio,) étaient parfaits, exactement comme décrits sur votre site (une impression d'être déjà venu à force ce regarder les photos avant de partir !)ainsi que les informations sur le village, les environs... votre site est vraiment très bien fait et j'en ferai l'éloge auprès de mes amis.
Merci à Virginie pour son efficacité et sa gentillesse qui nous a permis d'accéder à ce moment paradisiaque malgré les facéties d'un hacker sur notre boite mail....

Florence 40 minutes, Pisa 2 hours, Bologna 2 hours, Rome 3 1/2 hours.

I like To Tuscany, partly because it has a tremendous range of villas, and partly because (unlike many companies) it has an excellent website that provides what you really want when choosing a villa.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
