Panorama at Cornino
Location address: Castellina in Chianti - Siena
Panorama is a lovely spacious, ground floor villa with an amazing view. To the front of the villa there is a terrace furnished with table, chairs and an umbrella.

Panorama is entered through arched wood and glass doors. There is a large spacious room with the original fireplace, and a sitting area to the right. This area has a double sofa, wooden table, a wicker chair and sat TV. Throughout the villa there are lovely terracotta floors.

To the other side of the room is the fully equipped kitchen, which has gas hobs, fridge with small freezer and oven. In one corner is a round dining table with four chairs.
The bedroom is accessed up a single step and through a glass door from the living area. There is a wood and glass door on the back wall which leads to a gravel area used as parking. The large bedroom has plenty of light from both doors. It is furnished with a beautiful, wooden double bed and a chest of drawers. There is a third single bed in the room. The bathroom is a single step off the bedroom and has a shower.

The neighbouring villa guests pass between the front door of Panorama and the terrace.

The owner's property is above Panorama.

Panorama at Cornino
Location address: Castellina in Chianti - Siena
The Hamlet of Cornino Overlooking the Chianti hills, this is a peaceful retreat close to the town of Castellina in Chianti but in the heart of the countryside. This beautifully restored property is surrounded by olive groves and unforgettable views. The property is divided into 4 apartments, all with their own private terraces and entrances.

In the well maintained gardens there is a large pool which is in the sun the whole day. At one end of the pool there is a baby pool with a waterfall. The pool overlooks the hills and valleys below. From here there is a spectacular view across Tuscany which is dotted with villas, vineyards, olive groves and cypress trees.

Pool Info

The large pool is in an ideal spot for relaxing and admiring the marvelous views that surround you. This is sun covered the whole day, but there is shade nearby. There is a small fountain that runs into the baby pool, which leads into the main pool.

The kidney form pool invites you to cool off in its refreshing waters as you come in from a day of site seeing.
The pool is 7 x 14 meters and 0.7 to 1.3meters deep, the baby pool is 70cm deep. The pool is open from May to September.

Nearest town

Castellina in Chianti is the nearest town to Cornino. Within walking distance from the property there is a very small family run restaurant, and 1.5km away there is the restaurant L'Osteria del Laghetto.

Pros Exactly like the phoographs on website fantastic views lovely clean pool very good accomodation
Cons dirt track very steep at one point the fridge wasn't cold enough and didn't seem adjustable no air con in bedroom at night (although this is clearly stated on website)
Local attractions Antica Trattoria La Torre in Castellina was excellent (went there twice) The restaurant next to il Fondaccio Pizzeria (sorry, can't find the name) was awful. San Gimignano and Volterra were our favorite towns Very good Coop in Poggibonsi for all provisions

Stay: June 2012
Pros In the heart of Tuscany, with easy reach to Pisa, Florence, Siena and Volterra. the views were breathtaking, especially when relaxing next to the pool! Such great value for money.
Cons When I called the manager of Cornino for directions (as it's quite easy to get lost!) she wasn't patient enough with our poor Italian skills and hung up..which meant we had to knock on someone's door for help.
Local attractions Vagiagali, a small town near to Castellina was very quaint, with a superb restaurant. The local vineyards were great and very welcoming of visitors. The shops and restaurants of Castellina had everything we could ask for. We watched the Italy vs England match at a local bar which was very fun (even though England lost!)

Linda - I got back from Italy over the weekend, and just wanted to let you know that our stay at Cornino - Lago was outstanding. It was a great recommendation on your part and I thank you for it. The views were to die for, and the villa was extremely well located in terms of access to all the major site-seeing attractions in the area. I would recommend it to anyone.
Thanks again.
Kind regards
John (Accommodation: Lago)
Hi,
We have just returned from 2 weeks at the Lago apartment, Cornino, Castellina in Chianti. (21/07 – 04/08/2007)
We have had really good holiday in a very comfortable apartment with lovely views over Tuscany’s countryside.
This is the first time we have used your company and have been very impressed with the accommodation and the service we have received from yourselves.
I have attached a photo that I took from the terrace of our apartment which just about sums up the beauty of the area. [photo added to gallery]
Thanks once again
Gordon and Rose
Hi Dympna,
For some reason I can't type the answers under your questions, but I
would like to answer them anyway.
This is the first time that we have used your service and we have been
very impressed, with no complaints at all.
With regards to the accommodation, it was excellent, very clean and
tidy, the pool was very much used in the heat. We were well looked
after by the owners representative and once again no compaints.
We enjoyed visits to Florence, Siena and all the surrounding towns and
villages. We think the best part of the holiday was being able to enjoy
the local food and wine in such a lovely setting.
Once again thanks
Gordon and Rose (Accommodation: Lago)
I had been here before and the accommodation was exactly as I remembered and therefore exactly what I wanted.
As always - sitting on the Verandah, night and morning watching the sun rise or set over the rolling hills of Chianti. The general level of noise - the country is so quiet and peacefull. The lack of pressure to be anywhere in particular to meet a deadline. Quietly exploring the local villages and of course the italian food and wine!!
David Folker (Accommodation: Lago)

Wonderful, and exactly like it was shown on your web page
The area is incredibly beautiful. The pool was a huge asset given how
hot it was, and as we had it practically to ourselves. There is a
wonderful bar/restaurant 2 minutes up the road which we loved and had a
couple of excellent dinners. Really nice guy called Andrea runs it,
spoke no English but still was very friendly and served delicious food
in a brilliant setting.
Gorgeous! Really beautiful. Sunsets were fabulous. Loved looking out
over the olive groves and vineyards. Exactly as Tuscany should be. Great
location for Florence, San Giminiano and Siena. Really loved it!
Many thanks again for everything. We hugely enjoyed the house in Tuscany
and had a fabulous time.
All the best
Jonathan
(Lago)

Very spacious accommodation (Lago) which was clean and well decorated.  Also the
location was wonderful both in the sense of glorious views but also
convenient for most major sites.
Bridget Stokell
We fell in love with Cornino. The location and views are superb. To open the window in
the morning and look across the vineyards and olive groves basking in the
morning sun was great. On clear days San Gimingano stood on in the
distance. Inside, the property was very well finished. Very good furniture
and everything you needed for cooking etc. We would recommend it to anyone.
One word of caution - the drive up the hill round the sharp bends is quite
an experience! My first two attempts failed then I got the hang of it -
just. The garden and swimming pool were excellent.
Thanks again for your help and hopefully we will use your services again
some time in the future.
Best regards
Alan Young

I like To Tuscany, partly because it has a tremendous range of villas, and partly because (unlike many companies) it has an excellent website that provides what you really want when choosing a villa.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
