Pros Great location, STUNNING scenery. The villa was very well equipped in terms of kitchen items (crockery, pans, glassware - you name it) and had plenty of space for our group of 14. We had some concerns that people would be on top of each other but it wasn't the case at all. The pool was great, albeit a little chilly but that was to be expected for the time of year! It was a very relaxing break and the villa is well positioned for day trips to Florence & Siena, plus also visits to nearby towns, wineries etc. We would happily go back and just wished we had booked two weeks rather than one!
Cons The hot water system wasn't great. We mentioned this to the caretaker (who made an effort to fix it) but it was still hit/miss across the week. Some showers had hot water, some didn't so we could always find one that worked! There are no tea towels provided which we found odd. We brought our own pool towels and the bath towels were supplied but we had to ask to borrow 2 tea towels from the caretaker. There was a very small amount of toilet paper in some of the bathrooms but we had to go out the day we arrived and get supplies. I think it would be great if there was a little "welcome kit" with dishwashing liquid, dish cloth, tea towels and toilet paper. Given you can't access the villa until after 4pm, it's getting late to then head out and get supplies. Pietro (the caretaker) kindly kept the 3 dogs inside his gates but they do bark quite a bit. They frightened the toddler in our group and kept someone awake who slept on that side of the house. They settled down a few days after we arrived and I think they just wanted attention, but if you are particularly scared of dogs, this might not be the villa for you. Oh, and the wifi is sketchy. It's best on the stairs - stair 3 to be precise - it got dubbed the wifi zone as there was frequently someone sitting there to get signal. It wasn't a big deal and just "forced" us back outside to sit in the sunshine and enjoy the views!
Local attractions Radda in Chianti - lovely little village with good shops, restaurants & Palazzo Leopoldo hotel has a lovely terrace for drinks. Castellina in Chianti - also great & has a bigger/better supermarket for stocking up on essentials. Volpaia is a tiny little spot but worth a visit. We went to La Bottage di Volpaia and had a great lunch. We were a big group without a reservation but they happily sorted us an outside table. We also drove to Greve in Chianti for lunch & went to an amazing deli/butcher shop - Antica Macelleria Falorni. We visited some lovely wineries though I didn't make a note of the names! We booked Emily from A Tuscan Table - great to have a fabulous dinner catered for and have all the cleaning up done too!

Pros Large villa, great location, and wonderful outlook across Radha.
Cons Layout was complex with many little rooms etc, and we struggled throughout with the heating. We also were very surprised to have paid Euro 750 for 1 week of gas????? Would have also liked a little more information about the location which we struggled to find and with NO information inside the villa regarding local restaurants, sites, winery contacts etc etc
Local attractions Borno Di Radha - EXCELLENT

Was waren die Highlights Ihres Urlaubs?
Gab es unangenehme Überraschungen? Kleinigkeiten: zum Beispiel der Hund der Besitzer, der oft frei kam und die Kleinen erschreckte;
