La Posta di Confine is a wonderful Umbrian property in the hill above Perugia and Lake Trasimeno. This pretty property is composed of two villas, housing a total of three apartments. Next to them is the owner's villa.
In the garden is a pretty pool which looks out towards the views of the Umbrian hills across the valley. Next to this is a fantastic furnished terrace ideal to relax in the warm sun while admiring the countryside.
The two first of the two villas is immediately next to the owner's villa. This is a little cottage which has a lovely one bedroom apartment on the ground floor. There is also a second sleeping area but this is closed and not used when La Posta di Confine is rented as a single villa.
This cottage has a private furnished terrace which leads into an open plan living room. There is an iron sofa with comfortable cushions immediately on entering. The room has a kitchen unit equipped with gas hobs, oven and a fridge with freezer compartment. In the centre of the room is a dining table which can be opened up to eat the entire group for meals.
Off this room is a bathroom with shower and a bedroom. The bedroom is a cozy room with stone walls and traditional terracotta floors. It has a large, antique double bed, a chest of drawers and a small built-in wardrobe. To one side is a single bed which can be set up if the room is required as a twin or used for an extra person.
The second building is a large, two floor cottage to the far side of the pool. It is separated from the first by a well maintained lawn. This cottage is divided into two self-contained apartments which do not intercommunicate.
The ground floor villa has two bedrooms. It is entered from a little, stone paved terrace that is covered with a creeper and furnished with a table and four chairs. Inside is an open plan living area that has a wooden table with four chairs in the centre of the room. Along one wall is a kitchenette, equipped with gas hobs and a small fridge with internal freezer compartment.
Down a short corridor are the two bedrooms and a bathroom with shower. The first of the two bedrooms is a small double room, furnished with a large in-built wardrobe. While the second bedroom is a single room with a pretty iron bed, wardrobe and an antique chest of drawers.
The first floor villa is entered directly from a terrace, which is accessed up a slope paved with large stones. The little wooden terrace is furnished with a table, chairs and a couple of deck chairs.
Inside is an open plan room that has an iron daybed to one side. The other side has a wooden table and four iron chairs, while along the back wall is a small kitchenette fully equipped and including gas hobs and a fridge with internal freezer compartment.
Next to this is a bathroom with shower. Completing the villa is a lovely double bedroom with an antique bed. In the room is a chest of drawers while the antique wardrobe is found in the living room. This room can be converted to a twin bedroom.
In the main house there is a communal lounge next to a reception area with computer and wi-fi. In the lounge is a TV and a couple of sofas.
There is an extra charge for the use of the airconditioning.
Should two twin rooms be required please request this when booking.
The owners are onsite and will be able to assist guests when needed.

Pool Info
The pool is located at the end of a lovely lawn. It is on a slightly lower level than the houses in a wonderful sunny corner of the garden. It overlooks the valley below, with an excellent view of the Umbrian hills beyond.
To one side of the pool is a large terracotta paved terrace shaded by an umbrella. It is furnished with a table, chairs, a couple of deck chairs and some sun beds. To enter the sparkling water there are width long roman steps on the side of the terrace.
The pool is 12.5 x 4.5 metres. It is 1.2-1.6 metres deep. It is open from April to October, weather permitting. It is maintained using salt with a minimum amount of chlorine.

Nearest town
The nearest town is Mantignana, it is about 3km away. In the village there is are banks, a post office, several restaurants and cafés and a small supermarket. For a wider choice there is the town Magione only 12km away or Perugia, 13km away.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
