Villa Le Piane 4 at Le Piane

Villa Le Piane is on the edge of a small collection of three houses with which it shares the pool. The villa has an L shape around a pretty stone courtyard. It is surrounded by a pretty garden with open views of the forest covered hills that surround these Tuscan villas.
The villa is accessed across a lovely stone paved, courtyard terrace which is furnished with a table, chairs and umbrella. To one side there are also some sun beds from where the views of the Tuscan hills and valley can be admired.
Entering the villa directly infront of the glass and wood doors, there is a typical Tuscan, brick built kitchen with tiled work surfaces. A breakfast bar with terracotta arch looks into the kitchen which is entered through a second terracotta arch. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes gas hobs, oven and fridge with freezer.
Passing the kitchen there is the large, spacious lounge. Along the back wall is a long wooden typical Tuscan table with various objects on it. The opposite wall has a large open fireplace in traditional Tuscan villa style. Huddled around this there is a large sofa and an armchair. To one side is a unit with some games. The room is completed with some beautiful rugs on the terracotta tiled floor.
Through a curtained arch there is access to large, bright dining room. This room has two large, glass doors which lead out to the courtyard terrace. The floor is laid with old terracotta tiles while the walls of the room have been left with the traditional stone visible. In the centre of the room is a wooden table that can seat up to 8 people. At the far end of the room two arched windows provide light onto a small sitting area with a comfortable armchair and a wicker rocking chair. To the back of the dining room is a small courtyard with table, chairs and a barbeque. This area can be seen by the neighbouring villas, this is the only part of the outside area which can be viewed by the other houses.
To the left of the entrance a door leads into a small hall from which there is access to a bathroom with shower and washing machine. There is also a double bedroom which can be set up as a twin on request when booking. The pretty room is furnished with a wardrobe, a writing desk and some open shelves on one wall. Like the rest of the villa the floor is in terracotta and the roof with terracotta tiles and wooden beams.
From the little hall there is a narrow spiral staircase which leads up to the first floor where there is the second double bedroom. There is a built in wardrobe and a cupboard with some shelves. To one side of the room is a pretty chair. The first floor is completed by a bathroom with small box shower.
The pool is about 100metres away, up through the hamlet. From the garden it's possible to see and hear the road which passes the edge of the property.

Villa Le Piane 4 at Le Piane

Le Piane is a collection of three houses, located in the heart of the Chianti, not far from a road which leads to Gaiole in Chianti and to Radda in Chianti. It's perfectly positioned to make the most of central Tuscany with many wineries, castles and typical villages to explore.
There is a lovely infinity pool shared by the three typical Tuscan villas. The fenced pool is found at the top of the hamlet. From here, across the rooftops, there are wonderful views of the Tuscan hills dotted with villas, vineyards and forests.
The entire hamlet is well maintained, with pretty gardens filled with local plants and shrubs. Le Piane is on the edge of a valley floor, yet has great views of the Tuscan hills that surround it, and down the valley to one side.
The road between Radda in Chianti and Gaiole in Chianti is lower than the hamlet, over 200 metres away and can be heard. It is not a very busy road but there is some traffic.

Pool Info
The pool is located above the hamlet. It is completely fenced and hidden by a pretty hedge, over which there are views of the hamlet roof tops which lead onto the Tuscan valley beyond. The hills that surround the villa are covered with forests and vineyards.
The large infinity pool is surrounded by a well maintained lawn dotted with local trees and rosemary bushes. According to hamlet regulations there are no sun beds around the pool, guests are to bring their own from the villa. There are no umbrellas but several trees providing shade. The pool is 15x8 metres and 1.2 metres deep, it's open from May to October, weather permitting.
Nearest town
Gaiole in Chianti is a 5km away, it has several restaurants, a supermarket, banks, a post office, doctors office and various other amenities. Radda in Chianti is also accessible within a few kilometres, this is a similar town to Gaiole.

Straße ca. 200m unterhalb könnte in der Hauptsaison bemerkbar sein

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
