Supermarkets
Supermarkets are open from 8.30 to 13.00 and then from 16.30 to 19.30. Here you can find almost everything that you need.

Banks
There are various banks in Cortona. Each has different opening times but normally they are all open in the morning from 8.30 to 13.00. Most are open for 1 hour in the afternoon, but these times vary depending on the bank. Banks are not open on Saturdays.
All the banks have ATM machines that also take credit cards.

Chemist
Chemists are open everyday from 8.30 to 13.00 and 16.30 to 19.30. On Saturdays and Sundays there will be only one open in the whole town, to find out which one there is a notice board outside all chemists which states which one is open. There is also an emergency phone number, otherwise call 118.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
