Malborghetto

Situated in the small village of Lecchi in Chianti about 5 km up from the SS408 Siena-Gaiole road.
The antipasti comes recommended at Malborgetto, the service is very good and the wine is served with great elegance. The best place to eat is in the garden so be sure to ask for an outside table.

La Grotta della Rana
La Grotta della Rana is a small family run restaurant found in the tiny village of San Sano on the road between Lecchi in Chianti and SS408 Siena-Gaiole road.
The family has worked hard to build the restaurant and wine cellar, which now has an excellent reputation amongst local Italians, it is also considered chic to come here from the city of Siena and dine in the countryside of the Chianti. The host and head of the family Pomorolo is usually found taking care of the bills, while his wife is in charge of the kitchen, your waiter David and Deborah their son and daughter offer an excellent service.

I like To Tuscany, partly because it has a tremendous range of villas, and partly because (unlike many companies) it has an excellent website that provides what you really want when choosing a villa.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
