La Leggenda dei Frati
Monteriggioni
We found a new restaurant this visit from the Jeunes Restaurateurs D'Europe
2008 guide. It was La Leggenda dei Frati in Abbadia A Isola which is just outside Monteriggioni. Food and service was of the highest standard we hope you like it too.

Il Pozzo
Monteriggione
Il Pozzo is an excellent restaurant in the Piazza.
Cars are not allowed inside the walls, but there is an upper car park which avoids a long hike up the hill.  The village is more picturesquely viewed from outside the walls!
Closed Sunday pm & Monday

Bar dell'orso
Monteriggioni, at the exit of the dual carriageway
An excellent place for a sandwich, with a wide choice of fillings, at lunch time or an afternoon snack.

I like To Tuscany, partly because it has a tremendous range of villas, and partly because (unlike many companies) it has an excellent website that provides what you really want when choosing a villa.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
