Situated in a great location, only five minutes from the nearest grocery shop and close to the centre of Gaiole with all the facilities a large town has to offer. This property is quite unique as it comprises two self-contained apartments, one on the ground floor and one on the first floor. Both apartments are included in the rental of this property.Because of this layout, it is the ideal property for families or friends who would like to holiday together, but would still like their own space. Each apartment has one double bedroom and a sofa bed in each lounge suitable for an extra person or child.
The property is surrounded by a lovely mature garden with an attractive private pool which is set in a secluded area of the garden partly screened by mature hedging and trees which are great to sit under during the heat of the day. The paved surround has plenty of sun loungers, parasols as well as a covered gazebo with armchairs and coffee table.
Both the apartments have an open plan living area with a small kitchen with fitted units and a fridge with freezer section. In each apartment there is a small dining table and chairs and the lounge area has a sofa bed and a flat screen TV with some satellite channels.Each apartment has a second bathroom with shower accessed from the living area.
The first floor apartment has a dishwasher and an oven, whilst the ground floor apartment has a microwave oven but no conventional oven.
The bedrooms have double beds with handmade quilts made by the owner, both have hand painted furniture, celing fans and some feature exposed brickwork. The ensuite bathrooms have full size baths with handheld showers, bidet, WC and basin.
There is a choice of areas to enjoy eating outdoors at the villa: on the first floor there is a covered terrace with dining table and chairs and on the ground floor there is a private garden area with dining table and chairs.
There is also a brick built barbeque for cooking those ‘al fresco’ meals. And a shared laundry room located under the first floor terrace with washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board.
The owners live in the main house next door . They speak both English and Italian and are available to provide you with information about the area or any other help should you require it.
Mulino di Comporata is only five minutes from the nearest grocery shop and close to the centre of Gaiole.

Pool Info
Set in a secluded part of the garden partly screened by mature hedging and trees, the pool is a single ended Roman shape with internal steps leading down into the cooling water. The paved surround has plenty of sun loungers and parasols as well as a swing seat and covered gazebo.
The pool measures 10m x 5m with a depth of 1.6m. It is open from mid May to mid October. Pool towels are provided. The owner is an American lady who lives in the main house next door.

Nearest town
The nearest town is Gaiole in Chianti where there is a selection of shops and restaurants. This town is about 800mts away from Il Mulino di Camporata.

What were the highlights of your holiday? visiting the little towns (especially san gimignano) and villages in tuscany, visiting the castle at Brolio - great place for a toddler to run around.

What were the highlights of your holiday? A cooking class.
what was your overall impression of the accommodation? The accomodation was reasonable. We spent more time than we would have wanted to in the apartment due to the rainy weather. Some of the equipment was not working - ie The tumble drier which was a real problem and the TV which was less of a problem. The accomodation was transport dependant. We had previously stayed right in a village (Moltalcino) and we preferred that type of accomodation.
Did you have any unpleasant surprises? Not really. We should have paid more attention to our arrival and departure times. We arrive a bit late from the Florence airport and the trip was a bit hairy in the rain. We also left too early and had to get to the airport at 06h30 (left the venue at 04h30.
Do you have any other comments? We would happily deal with To-Tuscany again.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
