Paradiso is a typical trullo just under 3km from Ostuni, a hill top, pretty white washed town in Puglia (the heel of Italy). This trullo is actually made up of three of the traditional rounded houses, all attached to form a larger property, with a small extension for the kitchen.
There is total privacy in the extensive, terraced gardens down to the large olive grove. The garden is bordered by a dry stone wall and is ideal for relaxing while enjoying the extensive views of the countryside down to the Adriatic coast. It is furnished with table, chairs and a barbeque for dining al fresco in the warm evenings of Puglia. There is also a pizza oven outside. There is also access to the roof top from where you have breathtaking views.
You enter this fantastic property into the kitchen. This is a comfortable room with a central wooden table for dining indoors. To one side of the room is the kitchen unit with fridge/freezer, small oven and gas hobs. The entrance door provides the room with light. There is a bathroom with shower off the kitchen.

Continuing through to the next room you find yourself in the first trullo with it's characteristic whitewashed stone walls and rounded ceiling. This small room has a comfortable double sofabed and a fireplace.

Passing under an arch you enter the next trullo, which has an external door providing the entire property with plenty of light. There is a wardrobe and wooden table and chairs in this room.

From this central trullo there is access to the third trullo which houses the sleeping area. This room has a small double bed (140x190cm) with cupboard space built into the walls.
An important characteristic of the trullo is the lack of window and rounded effect which keeps the summer heat out, all light is cleverly provided by the stratigically positioned doors. Through out the property there are no doors between the rooms, providing a open plan effect with curtains used between the various rooms. The bathroom has a door.
Excellent for couples in Spring, Summer or Autumn.
The nearest beach is 6km away and there is a choice of sandy or rocky beaches.
There are mosquito screens on all windows/doors.
The property is surrounded by century old olive trees which are becoming part of a UNESCO heritage site.

Pros Its a Trullo! Its just delightful to look at and the come home at the end of a busy day and just relax completely in the private gardens enjoying the views to the coast and the stars after dark.
Cons Im not a fan of shower curtains
Local attractions The hilltop town of Ostuni is a short drive away and full of winding streets, restaurants, shops and friendly locals. We drove to the very bottom of the 'heel' to Leuca and then took the coastal route back up to Gallipoli - there are lots of little towns/villages, seaside cafes and old towers along the route. Alberobello - the Trulli town - is definitely worth visiting, its captivating. There are busloads of tourists that arrive intermittently though

Pros The position, the peace and quiet. We went to explore the area and rest, this traditional Trullo allowed us to do just that. The outdoor BBQ was a real bonus.
Cons The shower is small, but there is also an outdoor heated shower.
Local attractions Ostuni, the old part is just a few minutes in the car, plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. Free wifi in some bars.

Pros Great location just outside Ostuni. A car is probably need though to get around. Lots of nice beaches 10-15 minutes away. And the photos of the villa on the website don't do it justice - the grounds are amazing. Huge spaces with amazing views of Ostuni by night.

Cons The mosquitos are annoying, but not much can be done about that. Maybe mosquito netting around the bed?
Local attractions Places to visit - Alberrobello, Lecce, Cisternino, Martina Franca. Beaches along the coast are all nice, except maybe San Sabina. Top restaurants in Ostuni - Porta Nova, Osteria del tempo perso, La Reggia (great service), and the other Osteria restaurant by the cathedral.

Pros The position is perfect for exploring this beautiful region. The views from the garden are magnificent, stretching across to the sea. So much to see and do, we will return again soon. The weather in September was lovely, warm and sunny.
Cons Nothing
Local attractions Old town of Ostuni is just 5 minutes drive, with shops, bars and restaurants. Alberobello, the magnificent Trulli village. The Caves of Castellana. The city of Lecce.

Pros Absolutely everything (apart from the Mosquitos!!)

The location, rural setting, the way the Trullo was furnished and restored, the Pizza Oven - which we used - the outdoor Shower (which we also used!!)

The hosts/owners who met us on the first day and explained everything in detail, they made us feel totally at home in their Trullo.

Our Honeymoon in Puglia was 'Trulli' perfect, thanks to the bella Trullo Paradiso.
We didn't want to leave.

Grazie Mille!!
Cons Only the Mosquitos! ...but we were in Southern Italy, so I guess there's not much anyone can do. The mosquito netting on the doors and windows probably helped keep them to a minimum, and was much appreciated.
Local attractions Ostuni was wonderful, and for early June, fairly quiet. The Osertia Piazetta Cattedrale restaurant in Ostuni was fantastic, and the Nocciola ice-cream (also near the Cathedral) at was absolutely delicious, and plentiful. We visited Lecce, Otranto, Alberobello, Loceratondo, Matera and Martina Franca. All of which were fascinating (especially Alberobello) and each offered something different.
