Podere la Casetta - La Gallina - Client comments
Every thing was excellent at villa the high light was of course Tuscany itself.
The weather was unseaonably cool but that is not your fault. We would suggest that you let clients know that it is worthwhile renting a local mobile phone as there is no phone in the villa.

Hi Dymphna:
Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you but have been gathering the views of the other friends who went on the Tuscany trip.  Anyway here it is - see below
Attached one of my favourite photos from the holidy [added to photogallery].  The La Gallina patio faced directly west and each evening we were treated to the most marvellous sunsets over the mountains.  Many a gin and tonic was washed down looking at such a sunset.
Overall impression: Very Good - we lacked for nothing.
Highlights: Being so close to Volterra which was an absolute joy and totally unexpected.  Also being very close to all the major tourist sites - Florence was only about 90 minutes away by car and that was the furthest distance.
Unpleasant surprises: No.   All arrangements worked well including directions to Sen
Bois etc.    The following is not an unpleasant
surprises but just a couple of observations.  We did not rate the sun loungers.  Bearing in mind that we had a pool and gardens to sunbath in we only had 5 chairs not 6 - I say chairs because three were just deck chairs and one was a just an item to allow you to sit up on your beach towel and very uncomfortable.
Other villas seemed to have very good quality sun loungers and it was a bit of a disappointment.  We even contemplated buying a couple but decided against that.  Also it is not clear where each Villa's garden terrority ends and we were asked, very politely, by Sen Bois to move because we were trespassing on next' doors area (which was unoccupied at the time)

Hi Lisa - I just wanted to share with you the superb time we had in Italy. The villa and its surroundings were to die for and reminded me of somewhere you would go for a retreat. Waking up in the morning with such beautiful Tuscan views was wonderful. On reading the Guide books Volterra did not appear to be highly rated.  However we found this town of great interest and very pleasant to visit.  Unfortunately we had one or two downpours and this had a major impact on the access road to the villa. Many of the stones became lodged and we encountered wheel spin in first gear on several occasions. I must say this added to the excitement of departing from the villa!!!! There are just a couple of things you may wish to note.  We were advised bath towels would be provided. Yes towels were provided in hand towel size!!!! Also there is a slight problem with the side door to the villa. As my husband is a carpenter, he identified that the glazing beads are coming adrift, perhaps this could be looked into.
Thank you once again for providing such a wonderful setting.
