Poggio del Gallo 6

Poggio del Gallo is a well-restored villa just 6km from the lovely town of Arezzo. From it’s hill top position the villa boasts extraordinary views of the valley below and Arezzo in the distance.
The gardens of the villa are well maintained with lush green lawns and typical olive groves. A short distance from the villa, on the edge of the hill sits a large swimming pool and sun deck from where there are spectacular views.
The villa has been well restored into several separate suites, each of which has it’s own kitchen and small living area allowing the various occupants to have their privacy. The suites are interconnected by a central staircase, which leads down to a large dining and living room, with Sat TV, where the whole group can meet and eat.
Attached to this large dining room there is a bathroom and fully equipped kitchen for preparing meals. The kitchen leads out into the gardens where there is a big, covered barbeque area that also has a pizza oven.
There are 2 suites, each on a different floor. The first is on the ground floor and has access to the gardens from one of its bedrooms and the small dining area. There is a bathroom with shower.
The second suite is on the first floor it consists of two bedrooms, each of which has a bathroom with shower. From the living area there is access to a large sunny terrace that is to the back of the house. There is a single sofabed in this suite.
On one of the many patios there is a beautiful stone barbeque building with electric oven, charcoal bbq and wood fired pizza/bread oven. Adjacent to this area is a furnished terrace which makes it perfect for al fresco dining.
All the bedrooms are with double beds, however on request they can be made into twin rooms.

Poggio del Gallo has wonderful deep views of the valley below.
At certain periods throughout the year, it is possible to rent this Villa in a different format for fewer people. Where it is not possible to rent for less people, the price for the larger rental version of the property is shown.

Pool Info
The pool is located a short distance from the villa down a paved path. It is on the edge of the hill and has incredible views of the valley below and hills beyond which are dotted with villages. The steeples of Arezzo can also be seen from here.
The large pool is surrounded by a furnished sun deck. Above the changing rooms there is a second sun deck that has sun the whole day.
The pool is 5 x 10 meters and its depth ranges from 1 to 1.80 meters. It is open from May to September.

Nearest town
A couple minutes drive from the villa there is a little village with a small grocery shop. 6km away in Arezzo there is a large supermarket and many restaurants. The pizzeria La Pala d’Oro is the closest to the villa, only a few minutes drive away.

The house and its surroundings are absolutely fantastic: it’s specious and very well equipped. Number of bathrooms extending the number of bedrooms means you will never wait for your turn and toilet and shower next to the swimming pool is also very handy. The house is located on a hill, amongst vineyards and groves, thus providing great views. Moreover, there’s a very nice terrace where you can eat your meals overlooking the groves and the city of Arezzo (particularly picturesque at nights). Sunbathing over the swimming pool looking at the groves situated below you is also very enjoyable and relaxing.
Overall: we really loved the place and would recommend it to anyone.
The only downside of the house may be the fact that there aren’t any restaurants nearby, so if you’re thinking about going out for a meal or party in the evening, you have to take a car.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
