The owners of the villa provide a welcome pack with a few basics, and they have advised that there is a supermarket open on Sunday where you can stock up. The nearest town is Vicchio 4km away, here you will find grocers, supermarkets, pharmacy, petrol station, banks, a church and a selection of restaurants. As previously mentioned the painter Giotto was born in Vicchio, the house he was born in has been restored, and in 2002 opened as a museum. It is only open on Sundays and entrance is free of charge. Another town San Lorenzo is 5km away and also has a selection of shops, restaurants and there is also a hospital. Both Vicchio and San Lorenzo have railway stations, and it is possible to take the train to Florence instead of driving. The city of Florence is 37km away approximately 45 minutes by car and Rome is 300km away approximately 3 hours by car.
