Casa Isabella at San Vincenti

Casa Isabella is a free standing villa on two levels. It's located down the slope, below the main building. It has several terraces all providing excellent views of the forest covered hills that surround San Vincenti.
The villa is entered from the higher level. There is a large, bright, open plan room with lovely high ceilings of terracotta graced with wooden beams. To one side of this room is a lounge area with big windows providing lots of light and great views. Off this part of the room is a toilet.
To the other side is the kitchen and dining area. Where there is a colourful wooden table with chairs, and a kitchen unit with gas hob, oven, fridge with freezer. From the kitchen there is access to an upper furnished terrace with fantastic views.
From the middle of the living area there are stairs to the lower level and sleeping area. At the bottom of the stairs to the right there is a small double bedroom with a wardrobe and chest of drawers. From this room there is access to the lower terrace. Also on this side of the floor there is a bathroom with shower.
To the other side of the floor there are the other two bedrooms. One is a larger double bedroom with a wardrobe. The third bedroom is with a french bed (1.5 place), it's excellent for a single but also suitable as a small double. This room is a narrow bedroom with a wardrobe at one end and great views from the two windows.
On request when booking only one of the double beds can be set up as two single beds however the beds cannot be separated.
The garden has an open wooden fence.
There are mosquito screens in the bedrooms.

The hamlet San Vincenti is located on the edge of a small Tuscan village in the cooler hills of the Chianti Classico region. From the hamlet there are remarkable wide open views of the rolling hills covered with forests.
The entire property is on sloped land, away from the village. The main building is at the top of the property with the two barns, Casa Guia and Casa Isabella below it. Next to the barns is the beautiful pool basking in the sun with fantastic views.
Below the pool is an olive grove belonging to the property. San Vincenti is surrounded by forests and provides a fantastic location to be able to see the Tuscan wildlife wonder by occassionally.
In the village there is a medieval church and other privately owned houses. The hamlet itself consists of 15 villas, it is located just before entering the village and has been restored to a high standard.
Pool Info
The pool is located to one side below the main building of the property. It's down a steep slope from the country road that goes into the village. From the hamlet buildings there are pretty paths to the pool.
The area around the pool is rather limited but there are sun-beds from which to admire the fantastic views while soaking up the warm Tuscan sun.
The pool has roman steps and is 15x6 metres with a depth of 1.5 to 1.8 metres. It is open from May to September.
Nearest town
The nearest restaurant is 5km in the village Starda, and the nearest village for shopping is 14km in San Gusme' while the Chianti towns of Gaiole and Radda are 15km and 22km respectively.

La vue magnifique, le calme, les animaux......
La piscine n'a pas été entretenue de la semaine et les parasols et les transats étaient tous cassés !!!
Le frigidaire beaucoup trop petit pour une famille de 5 personnes (compte tenu de l'éloignement des magasins, il y a besoin de faire du stock et aussi quand il fait très chaud on apprécie d'avoir des boissons au frais).
Pas de parasol sur la terrasse de la maison donc pas de possibilité de s'y mettre avant qu'elle soit à l'ombre (Dommage !!!).
Aussi difficulté pour être en relation avec une personne lorsqu'on rencontre un problème (notamment machine lave linge en panne et aucune info !)
Le village de San GUSME, village pittoresque avec des restaurants, distributeur banque, épicerie....
Autrement, Sienne, CHIANTI RABHA,....

La tranquilité des lieux et la piscine accessible. L'impression d'être dans un lieu rustique avec les commodités de la vie moderne. Le silence et les étoiles chaque soir. La qualité de la literie. L'eau chaude en quantité. La proximité de Sienne, ville magnifique.
Le fait qu'il n'y avait pas de moustiquaires aux fenêtres de chambres, ce qui nous empêchait d'ouvrir pour avoir un peu d'air le soir. Un peu loin des services.
Un resto à Badia a Coltibuono dans l'abbaye.
Le château de Brolio avec vignoble et achat de bons vins.
Un charmant resto à San Gusme, dans le petit village.
Les visites de Sienne, Florence et San Gimignano.
Le beau village de Gaiole, Castelnuovo di Berargenda.

prachtig huis, prima zwembad, mooi uitzicht, mooie omgeving.
zeer geïsoleerd; Casa Isabella ligt ver weg van de bewoonde wereld (winkel, restaurant).
De prachtige steden Siena en Florence zijn goed bereikbaar.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
