Sestuccia is a combination of two ground floor villas located a few kilometres from Gaiole in Chianti. They are two cottages a short distance apart, positioned in a perfectly manicured garden. The larger of the two is part of a villa where the owners live, while the smaller one is an independent cottage.
The property is completely fenced and surrounded by a pretty forest and vineyard. On a higher level from Sestuccio there is a barbeque and the pool which is shared with the owners. To one end of the pool is a room with a sauna and Turkish bath.
Each cottage has a furnished private terrace and some garden space. Inside the larger cottage there is a spacious, bright room which has billiards table, furnished with several cues and balls. To one side is a wooden table where there is a small laptop with Internet connection. To the other side, below a pretty terracotta arch there is a double sofa.
Passing under the arch there is the spacious kitchen with dining area. The kitchen unit runs along one wall and is fully fitted with gas hobs, oven, fridge with freezer. On another wall is a large fireplace. The dining table in the middle of the room can seat comfortably up to 8 people. From this room there are stairs that lead to the owners villa, however the door remains locked.
To the back of the villa is the sleeping area, where there is a big bathroom with hydro-massage bath and handheld shower. The spacious bedroom is furnished with a double iron bed and a large wooden wardrobe. Completing this villa is a laundry room which is shared with the owner.
The second, smaller villa is a ground floor property nestled against the hillside. It looks out over the vineyards across the driveway across the Chianti hills. It is completely built of stone with a pretty shady terrace furnished with a table with travertine top and two chairs. To one side in the little garden there are a couple of sun beds and a barbeque.
Two large glass doors lead into the main living area of this Chianti cottage. The room is spacious and bright. To one side is a comfortable sofa for two people. In the centre of the room is a travertine table with four chairs. There is a computer with wi-fi connection available.
Against the back wall is the kitchen unit, it has two electric hobs, a small fridge with freezer compartment and oven. To one side is an open fireplace ideal for cooler Spring or Autumn evenings. There is an air-conditioning unit in the room.
Passing under an arch there is a small hall off which is the well fitted bathroom with shower, and the double bedroom. The bright bedroom has a big bed and is tastefully furnished with several modern pieces which include a large wardrobe and a chest of drawers. A large window lets in plenty of light. There is an air-conditioning unit in the bedroom.
The smaller Sestuccia cottage is located at the end of the drive and has it's own covered parking.
The entire property is run with renewable energy based on solar panels. There is a biological vegetable garden that guests can use.
The owners of the villa are a lovely friendly family (3 people) who will be available should you require any assistance or information. They may occasionnaly make use of the swimming pool.

Pool Info
The pool is situated a short distance away from the villa. It is shared with the owners and their family. This sunny area of the large garden is a perfect place to relax after a day out sightseeing.
Next to the pool is a wellness centre with sauna and Turkish bath.
The pool is 11x5.5 metres and 1.5 to 2 metres deep. The pool is always open.
Nearest town
The nearest town is Gaiole in Chianti which is about 3km away. In the town there is a selection of shops and restaurants. Various amenities are also available.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
