Sole di Sesta is a wonderful Tuscan property within walking distance to Monti, a small typical Tuscan village. The property is composed of three little villas and a larger Tuscan villa which is the main house, all surrounded by a perfectly manicured garden which looks out to a traditional olive grove with vines and onto the fantastic Chianti views.
The pool is located to one side of the garden between two of the cottages. It has a lovely sunny position and enjoys the best of the views over the rolling hills dotted with wine estates and elegant Tuscan villas, including Brolio castle and the Monte Amiata in the far distance. The pool is very deep on one side.
To the far end of the pool is the first of the cottages. It is a pretty, ivy covered building with a terracotta paved loggia which is furnished with a table and chairs for dining or relaxing outdoors while enjoying the marvelous views.
Inside there is an open plan room with a wooden mezzanine floor. The high Tuscan ceiling of wooden beams and terracotta tiles makes the cottage airy and spacious. It is furnished with two comfortable double sofas, a small wooden dining table with four chairs and a well equipped kitchenette. The kitchen unit includes gas hobs, an oven and a small fridge with freezer.
Off the room is a little bathroom with shower. The sleeping area is on the mezzanine floor. This is a narrow floor which is furnished with two single beds. It is not possible to make a double here. Limited wardrobe space is available on the ground floor in an in build wardrobe.
The second, ivy covered cottage on the property is on the other side of the pool. This is a single floor building with a low roof and plenty of large windows on all sides making it a lovely bright villa.
Inside this pretty, romantic cottage is a spacious sitting area with fireplace. It is comfortably furnished with two large sofas and a couple of chairs. To one side of the room is a dining table with chairs for 3 people.
To the other side of the villa is a small kitchen unit with three hobs and a tiny fridge. This can be closed off with some sliding doors. Next to it is a pretty, spacious bedroom with a double bed which can be made into a twin if requested when booking. Completing the cottage is a small bathroom with shower.
The main Tuscan villa is located to one side. It is entered into a kitchen which has units on both sides of the room and a marble covered work table in the centre of the room. It is very well equipped and includes gas hobs, oven, dishwasher and a large fridge with separate freezer section.
Off this room is a small corridor, going right it leads into a small sitting area which has a double sofa and an armchair. To one side of the room is an open fireplace which also opens to the back and into the larger lounge on the other side. This lounge is accessed through an arched doorway. It is comfortably furnished with two triple sofas and an armchair. Large glass and wood door lead out into the garden.
From the small sitting room there is access to the dining room which is a large, very bright room. It has three glass walls which can be fully opened to provide the effect of eating in a loggia. The big wooden dining table is surrounded by comfortable cushioned wooden chairs.
To the back of the ground floor there is a small hall with wardrobe. To one side is a narrow twin bedroom which cannot be made into a double. It has a writing desk and chair with a high window letting in plenty of light. To the other side of the hall is a simple bathroom with shower.
To the left of the kitchen stairs lead up to the first floor. At the top there is a glass door which leads out onto some stone steps that go down to the garden. To the left is a corridor. The first bedroom off this is a twin room which can be made into a double if requested when booking. The window looks out to the incredible views of the rolling Chianti hills and onto the Monte Amiata. In the room is a wardrobe. It has an en-suite bathroom with shower.
The second bedroom is at the end of the corridor and to the right. It is a lovely double master bedroom which cannot be made into a twin. In the room is a comfortable armchair and a double wardrobe, there is also an overhead fan. The window looks out towards the views. En-suite is a bathroom with tub that has a handheld shower which can be connected to the wall.
Across the hall is a twin bedroom, this can be converted into a double if requested when booking. Like all the bedrooms in the villa it has a high ceiling with wooden beams and terracotta tiles. The floor is paved in tradition Tuscan terracotta. The window looks out to the back of the villa and towards the entrance road. En-suite is a small dressing room with built-in wardrobe, this room leads into a bathroom with tub and an overhead shower.
There are TVs and air-conditioning in all the cottages.
The bedrooms will be set up as indicated unless requested differently at the moment of booking. They cannot be changed on arrival.

On the property, below the garage, lives the caretaker. The area is detached from the villas and she will not disturb guests.

Pool Info
The sparkling pool is located in the perfectly manicured garden between two of the cottages. It is surrounded by a protective hedge on two sides providing the area with some privacy while the other two sides are open towards the olive grove and onto the incredible views of the Chianti hills. The pool has an electronic safety cover (for child safety and to keep it warmer).
The pool is surrounded by a terracotta paved sun deck which is dotted with sun beds, several chairs and a couple of umbrellas. This is the ideal place to relax while soaking up the Tuscan sun and views. To one side there are some roman steps to enter the cool and crystal water.
The pool is 12x6 metres and 1.2-2.5 metres deep. It's open from May to October, weather permitting.

Nearest town
The nearest village is Monti in Chianti, which is about 1km away. It has a bar and a small grocery shop. In Pianella, which is 7km away, there is a pharmacy, bank and other services. Gaiole in Chianti has a larger supermarket, it is about 13km away. The nearest recommended restaurant is Le Fontenelle which is about 4km away.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
