La Balla at Vecchio Fienile, Sant'Appiano - Barberino Val d'Elsa - Florence and Chianti

Vecchio Fienile is an idyllic small hamlet set in a peaceful location on the lower slopes of the Chianti hills, surrounded by the gentle landscape of the Val d’Elsa. The former stone barn has been lovingly restored and converted into five attractive holiday apartments that blend beautifully with their rural surroundings. Each apartment has its own outdoor dining area, perfect for relaxed meals in the open air. Well-kept lawns surround the building, creating a welcoming and spacious feel. The generous shared pool is located slightly uphill behind the apartments, ensuring privacy and offering lovely views over the countryside. Four of the apartments are on the ground floor, making them suitable for guests with reduced mobility.

The location of Vecchio Fienile is ideal for both relaxation and exploration. The small hamlet of Sant’Appiano is about a 20-minute walk away and offers a good restaurant as well as a children’s playground. The town of Poggibonsi is just a 10-minute drive away and provides all amenities, including several supermarkets. San Gimignano can be reached in around 30 minutes and is famous for its UNESCO-listed historic centre, Vernaccia white wine and the renowned Gelateria Dondoli. Florence, Siena, Volterra and Pisa are all excellent day-trip destinations.

About the villa
La Balla is a spacious ground-floor holiday apartment located on the corner of the building. A large covered and furnished terrace invites relaxed alfresco dining and quiet moments while overlooking the hamlet’s communal gardens. Inside, wooden beamed ceilings and terracotta floors add Tuscan character, complemented by comfortable furnishings for a relaxing stay.
