Villa Montisi is an attractive single storey villa located in the north corner of the hamlet Podere Ampella. This hamlet is a collection of apartments also available for rent with a separate pool. The villa has 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a large garden with private swimming pool and independent access and parking.
The large garden is mainly lawn and has fabulous open views over the surrounding countryside towards the village of Montisi. The swimming pool is located a few steps away from the terrace at the back of the house. It has a paved surround furnished with sun loungers and umbrellas and ladder access into the pool.
The entrance to the villa opens directly into the lounge area which is comfortably furnished with sofa and armchair. There is a flat screen TV with DVD and CD player. At the rear of the property is a double door leading directly out onto the terrace and garden.
A brick archway to the left of the lounge takes you through to the open plan kitchen/diner. This has fitted units along one wall with fridge/freezer, oven, gas hob, and dishwasher. There is a traditional wooden dining table and six chairs and double doors leading out onto the terrace that runs across the back of the house.
To the right off of the lounge is a hallway leading to the two bedrooms; the bedroom on the left has twin beds which can be made into a double if required. The room also has doors out to the garden. The bathroom with full size bath and hand held shower, WC, and basin is adjacent to the bedroom.
To the left off of the hallway is the master bedroom which has a double bed, large wardrobe and ensuite bathroom with shower, WC and basin.
The third bedroom is up a couple of steps at the end of a the hall. This is a lovely double bedroom which cannot be made into a twin. Double wood and glass doors provide plenty of light and access to the garden. En-suite is a bathroom with shower.
Located in a corner of the hamlet, with 3 bedrooms a private pool and fantastic views across the countryside.

Pool Info
The swimming pool is located a few steps away from the terrace that runs across the back of the house. It has a paved surround, furnished with sun loungers and parasols. Relaxing poolside you have great views across the countryside to the village of Montisi.
The pool measures eight metres by four metres and has a constant depth of one and a half metres with ladder access at one end. The pool is open from May until September.
Nearest town
There are two towns approximately, Montisi 2km away and San Giovanni d’Asso 4km away. Montisi which can be seen from some parts of the hamlet is a charming small town with a historic grain tower. Here you will find a selection of shops, banks, pharmacy etc. The town is host to an annual jousting contest ‘Giostra di Simone’ held in August each year.
The second and much larger town is San Giovanni D’Asso. The streets of this medieval town surround a twelfth century castle. Here there is a much larger selection of shops, banks, supermarkets, bars and restaurants. The town also has Italy’s only truffle museum.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
