Overall impression:New construction with top quality materials; over done security...too cumbersome; well-sited home and carefully desined for comfortable accomodation for lots of people.Lovely pool and spectacular views.TRULY IDYLIC.No phone. My cell did not work consistently so it would have been hard to call To-Tuscany or owners if I had not gotten lucky with the cell function. I noticed sound travelled to well between some sleeping rooms.All the tile made sound travel well. Could be very noisy for a louder group.
Highlights: Location, villa, views all relaxing and entertaining. Enjoyed Lucca, Castenouvo di Garfagnana,the coast, Cinque Terres and later Florence all from the villa,although I would not recommend doing some (Cinque Terres, Florence) as a day trip.
Unpleasant surprises: Your on call person cleared up a misunderstanding on the agreement for us that we were not able to do with the owners. When we arrived they had locked off some of the house and we rented the whole. The owners were very apologetic.The owner did come by every day for one reason or another and we felt a little spied on, that is was a little invasive of our privacy. We felt he was nervous about "his baby." Perhaps it is also a cultural difference in that he was very hospitable, helping us with suggestions and directions.
