Casalino Due is a picturesque traditional Tuscan villa in the heart of the Chianti Classico. It was originally built in 1680 and later restored in 1997. Casalino Due offers wonderful views of the surrounding countryside and is only 2.5km away from the town of Panzano in Chianti.
Situated a short distance from the main villa in the fenced garden is the wonderful sparkling swimming pool. The pool is surrounded on three sides with pretty shrubs and trees. The open side offers the most spectacular views of the rolling countryside and distant mountains.
Attached to the main villa is a spacious covered terrace. It is furnished with plenty of tables and chairs and is the perfect place to dine al-fresco while enjoying the spectacular views which include the famous villa ‘Vignamaggio’ perched on a nearby hilltop. This well known villa has been used in many films including “Much ado about nothing” (1993). Close by the terrace in the garden is a huge brick built barbecue with  pizza oven.
Entry to the villa is directly into the very spacious main lounge. This room is furnished with a triple sofa and matching double sofa. Other furnishings include an antique cupboard, large glass and stone table and two iron chairs that are positioned in front of the huge open fireplace. To the right of the room through a bricked archway is the dining room. A second opening leads to the main stairs and a guest toilet, while a sloping corridor leads down into the kitchen.
The dining room is full of natural light and space. In the centre of the room is a very impressive traditional Tuscan dining table with bench seating for twelve or more people. There are doors at either end of the room that give access to both the front and the rear gardens. Towards one end of the room is an antique cupboard and smaller wooden table. The large windows offer beautiful views.
The huge kitchen with its vaulted ceiling has everything needed for the preparation of meals. There is plenty of work space and cooking equipment. In the centre of the room is a very impressive double sided island cooker which has several ovens and many gas hobs. There is also a spacious fridge with separate freezer, a dining table with seating for eight people and a large open fireplace. A set of double doors open out onto the main terrace at the front of the property.
At the top of the stairs on the left is the upstairs lounge. This comfortable room is furnished with a triple sofa and two matching armchairs with large foot stools. Along one wall is a fireplace and a wood burner which can be used. Set to one side is a flat screen television with satellite.  Two sets of French doors give access to a small furnished terrace while a large brick archway opens into a hallway. A  flight of stairs in the hallway lead up to the gallery which overlooks the lounge below.
The gallery is furnished with a well stocked bookcase  and a wrought iron sofa. To the right is the smallest bedroom with a low ceiling and a small iron double bed 135cm x 190cm.  This room benefits from a compact en-suite bathroom with shower. This bedroom is recommended for 2 children or one adult.
From the upstairs hall there is access to a laundry room. At the furthest end of the hall are two more bedrooms and a spacious bathroom with shower. The left side room is bright and airy. It is furnished with a double bed, chest of drawers and a clothes rail.
To the right is a twin room with two single iron beds. Other furnishings include a wardrobe, chest of drawers, desk, simple chair and small television. Plenty of natural light enters the room from the single window.
Right of the main stairs is the master bedroom. This room is exceptionally large and spacious. In the centre is a lovely wrought iron double bed. Other furnishings include two small couches, desk and simple chair. Along one wall is a decorative set of steps that have been used as bookshelves. At the rear of the room is a huge bathroom with double basins, tub and shower room.
At the opposite end of the master bedroom is a door leading to the study. This room is furnished with a large wooden table, chairs, computer desk, shelves and an arm chair with foot stool. There is also a flat screen television set to one side. French doors open out onto a furnished terrace.
3 double beds and 1 twin bed
Twin beds can be converted into doubles if requested when booking.
2 double bedrooms can be set up as twin bedrooms if requested when booking.
4 bathrooms, 3 of which are en-suite

Note that the smallest double room is not shown on the floor plans

Pool Info

The well maintained sparkling pool is situated a short distance down the garden from the villa and is surrounded on three sides with pretty shrubs and trees.  Looking out to the fourth side while lounging at the pool  guests can enjoy the most spectacular views of the Chianti.
Overhanging one end of the swimming pool is a huge granite rock which is used as a diving board. There are plenty of sun loungers, tables and chairs around the pool side. This is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the warm Tuscan sunshine. Pool towels are available at no extra cost.

Family with young children
DULWICH, Australia

Stay: July 2016
2 families with young children - we had an excellent stay. It's as beautiful as the pictures suggest. Perfect location for exploring Tuscany - could not be better. Plus only a couple minutes by car to Panzano so easy to grab a coffee or supplies from supermarket. Hosts extremely helpful. Perfect stay!
Local attractions Restaurant in Lamole was a standout. Querciabella Winery was the best option for tasting good wine at a winery.
