Casetta I 19, Vinci - Florence

10 bedrooms 6 bathrooms 19 people Private Pool 5 - Superb - Superb 5

This vast villa near Vinci, between Pisa and Florence, could provide the perfect solution for a big get-together. Inside its high stone walls are five two-bedroom apartments that up to 19 people could call home. In fact, this striking property, its green lawns giving way to softly undulating countryside and a neighbouring golf course, is just the place to bring together a family, young and old, thanks to a ground-floor apartment that has been thoughtfully adapted for people with disabilities, including a wheelchair-accessible wet room.

All five apartments have their own front door (one has steps to the garden), plus lots of room for cooking, dining and relaxing and snuggling up at night. The light pastel décor sets off the traditional terracotta tiled floors and wooden beamed ceilings, with richly hued fabrics on the beds and sofas adding a little warmth. There are gorgeous views of the hills beyond the voile-dressed windows, although these are arguably better enjoyed on the huge terrace, a lovely place where everyone can eat together, or from beneath the shade of a sailcloth by the glittering water of the private pool.

Our Thoughts
We think this villa is a very clever choice for a large group, especially a party combining different generations. It affords a good degree of independence with its spacious separate apartments, as well as lovely places to come together outside, at the attractive terrace and swimming pool, both of which have been beautifully landscaped and exquisitely dressed – we love the sailcloth awnings by the pool. And, of course, it’s particularly suitable for golf lovers or a group that has someone with a disability among their number, with the wheelchair-accessible ground-floor apartment.

Notes
Ten bedrooms, six bathrooms. There is air-conditioning throughout the villa, which is included in the price.
Clients should be aware that there is a restaurant situated on site. The owners can provide menus for guests at the villa. Customers of the restaurant may occasionally use the pool.

The pool is set below the house in the garden, reached via steps from the communal terrace, and has a fantastic position with views across the neighbouring golf course and surrounding countryside. There is a large paved sun deck, with loungers shaded by awnings, and a couple of tables with chairs. Pool size: 12m x 6m, 1.2m-1.4m deep. Open from May to October, weather permitting.

Casetta | 19 was the trip of a lifetime. Every single person who joined us on this trip had an amazing time. The villa was absolutely beautiful. There were vineyards all around us, a golf course right next to us and views of the towns in the distance. It was a great size with more than enough room for 19 people. Everyone was very comfortable and taken care of. Each person staying had their own private space with the options to use multiple bathrooms and kitchens. The rooms were clean, pretty, simple and easy to use. They had room for you to put your belongings away and the beds were a great size. The villa was beyond impressive. The owners were even more amazing than the perfect villa. They took care of everything we needed and were there for us through each adventure we went on. They touched base with us every morning and night to make sure our trip was going well. They called transportation for us when needed, printed things we forgot to print and answered any questions we had. They had the most wonderful wine tasting for all of us and shared information about what they do as a family. We set up a dinner on the last night we were there and the family made the whole thing. It was very professional and one of the most delicious meals we have ever had in our lives. They truly are an amazing family and made us feel at home in their home. We would stay here again in a second and can't thank them enough for their touching hospitality.
Local attractions The Leonardo Di Vinci museum and house visit were so much fun and very close to the villa. We used the train station a lot to go to Florence, Rome, and Venice. It was easy and very affordable. Florence was one of the greatest places we visited. The food in the town of Empoli (Right down the road from the villa) was delicious, especially a pizza place called Super Marios. The best attractions and restaurants of the whole trip were right in the backyard of the villa. They made us the most amazing food, put on a beautiful wine tasting, and gave us the most amazing landscapes to see right outside of your window. We will never forget those memories and are so thankful for the experience to live like a true Italian.
