Le Donne di Bargecchia is an estate located on the edge of a tiny village with fantastic views of the Viareggio plains down to the Mediterranean coast line. The property is composed of a large villa and three independent annexes, plus the caretaker's residence. The owner has an apartment within the main villa which they do not use when it's rented. Within walking distance is the small village of Bargecchia where there is a shop and restaurant.
The pool is located below the main villa and above an olive grove and has stunning views towards the coast. Around the pool are plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas.
Overlooking the pool is the main villa with a large furnished terrace and covered pergola for dining al fresco while admiring the spectacular views. Each of the annexes have a furnished terrace outside.
Inside there is a small hall, to the left is a bright dining room with the original flooring, like the rest of the ground floor. The dining room features modern furniture. It has a table seating six people in the centre of the room and long, sideboard with mirror against the back wall. A matching glass cupboard rests against another wall and is well stocked with table wear. To the back is the kitchen with high windows. It has plenty of work and storage space and is fully equipped, including gas hobs, oven and a large fridge with separate freezer section.
To the right of the entrance hall is the first lounge which is lovely and bright with a pellet powered fireplace against the back wall. The room is furnished with three double sofas. Passing through to the next room there is a second lounge with an original, open fireplace and furnished with leather sofas and armchairs. Unlike the rest of the ground floor which has terracotta arched ceilings, this room has a ceiling of wooden beams and terracotta.
At the back of this lounge is a separate dining room furnished with a mix of modern and traditional items. The brightly coloured table is set off by the wooden chairs which seat up to 18 people. In the room are two small cupboards. Between the lounge and this dining room there is a small hall with access to the back garden.
Off the lounge is a small hall where there is a guest toilet with washing machine. Stairs lead to a mid-level floor where there is a spacious lounge with double sofa and a writing desk with chair. From here there is access to the first of the bedrooms. It is a beautiful room with a four poster bed with a decorated in red. In the room is a chest of drawers and a double wardrobe. En-suite is a bright bathroom with tub that has a handheld and an overhead shower.
Continuing up the stairs there are the remaining rooms on the first floor. Just before the top of the stairs is a bathroom with tub, handheld and overhead shower. This leads into a bedroom with double, four poster iron bed and double door wardrobe. Like the other rooms on this floor there are fantastic views. This room has access to a sitting room with double sofa and writing desk with chair.
Exiting the sitting room, down the corridor to the right is a suite with a beautiful ceiling of wooden beams and terracotta, in which there is a skylight for extra light. The ceiling slopes down to above the head of the double, iron bed. To the other side of the room is a writting desk with chair and a double sofa. En-suite is a bathroom with shower.
To the left of the corridor there is the final bedroom which is composed of two parts, divided by a door. The first part has a single bed and chest of drawers while the second room is a lovely, spacious room with a pretty wood and terracotta ceiling and the original terracotta floor. The iron bed rests against a wall while the furnishings are completed by a wardrobe and mirror. Two windows provide plenty of light. En-suite is a bathroom with tub, handheld and overhead shower.
Gina is the first of the annexes. It is a first floor Tuscan villa with a small, paved terrace outside at the bottom of the external stairs. From the terrace, past the buildings of Le Donne di Bargecchia it's possible to admire the fantastic view towards the sea. Inside the villa there is a spacious and bright open plan room with a high ceiling of terracotta and wooden beams. The floor is paved in the original terracotta tiles. In the centre of the room, facing a large, open fireplace is a double sofa.
Behind the sofa is a wooden dining table with four chairs. While to one side is a small kitchenette with two electric hobs and a small fridge. Off the room is a small balcony with a wonderful view over the pool and down the valley to the sea in the distance. The double bedroom is to the right of the entrance. En-suite it has a bathroom with shower. The room is spacious and cannot be made into a twin bedroom. It has a lovely iron bed with matching bedside tables, a double door wardrobe and a chest of drawers.
Giuseppina is the second annex and located below Gina. It is a ground floor Tuscan villa with a large, paved terrace furnished with a table and six chairs shaded by an umbrella. It is part of the property Le Donne di Bargecchia from where there are excellent views from the communal gardens. The terrace leads into the small kitchen which has gas hobs and a medium size fridge with separate freezer section. There is limited work and storage space. From here there is access to an open plan lounge-diner which has a large fireplace to one side. The modern dining table with four chairs rests against the far wall while a triple and double sofa around a coffee table are located in the centre of the room. The room has the traditional Tuscan villa ceiling of terracotta and wooden beams.
Off the lounge is the twin bedroom furnished with matching iron beds which can be set up as a double if requested when booking. In the room is a double door wardrobe and a cupboard in a corner. The second bedroom is off a small hall which also provides access to the bathroom with shower. The bedroom has a double iron bed which cannot be made into a twin. To one side is a double door wardrobe. Two windows provide the room with light.
Cecilia is the third annex. The cottage is attached only on one side to the main building. It has a lovely shady terrace outside furnished with a pergola over a table and chairs for dining al fresco. From the terrace there are stunning views down to the coast.
Inside the villa is an open plan lounge-diner divide by a couple of steps. The entire room is paved in terracotta and has a lovely, high, wooden ceiling. Two double sofas around a coffee table face the TV and fireplace, which is ideal for the cooler evenings in the Spring and Autumn. Plenty of light is provided by the wood and glass door and the two windows. Off the lounge is the bathroom with shower.
The dining area has a wooden table which can seat six with a traditional Tuscan, wooden side board against the far wall. To the back a glass brick wall divides the room from the kitchen. Although narrow, the kitchen is fully equipped and includes gas hobs and a medium size fridge with separate freezer compartment. It's a typical Tuscan kitchen with curtained storage space below the counter.
From the lounge there is access to the twin bedroom. This room can be made into a double if requested in advance. In the room are matching iron bed and a double door wardrobe. Two windows provide the room with abundant light. The double bedroom if off a little hall from which there is also access to the bathroom. The room has a double door wardrobe and a pretty iron bed which cannot be made into a twin. The single window looks out to the side of the property.
