Laying on a hilltop by the Southern Chianti border with Siena, Le Rocche di Valiano is a fine collection of cottages and apartments. Making up the Tuscan farmhouse restoration, each holiday home has crafted stone exteriors and modern interiors and a hedged garden with a dining area. There are open views of rolling vines and olives divided by winding cypress-lined roads. The furnished sun-baked pool garden extends into the views to the south. Here, in the cooling evening breeze, is your front row seat for a golden hour sunset you won't forget.

Siena's never-ending wonders are 6Km south of Le Rocche di Valiano while towards Chianti the village of Quercegrossa is a convenient 4Km for fresh bread and a morning Cappuccino. Vagliagli which is 10Km from the resort is not to be missed for the Dievole wine tasting and open terrace restaurant, the perfect Chianti viewing spot. Day trippers won't want to miss their chance to take in Florence, San Gimignano and Val d'Orcia but they'll want to make it back for that sunset!

To Tuscany team comments for this review:

The owner apologises that the cleaning was not at such a good standard. They have sent in a cleaning team to look at the issues. The pool pump failed but the owner immediately sent a technician - it took a while for the pool to adjust but it is fine now. The activity in the garden was partly the pool technician and the owner likes the gardener to maintain the garden and pool area so it is in good order for guests.

The owner has informed us that they have recently had a thorough check of everything in the villa, including all electrical devices. The gas hobs are now functioning perfectly.
