Villa Montedomini is a wonderful Tuscan villa located on an estate in the cooler hills above Florence. From its sloping and terraced gardens there are fantastic views of the surrounding forest covered hills. The villa has been restored to its terracotta floors and wooden beams on the ceilings, the villa is a perfect place to relax, quiet and peaceful.

Outside the villa, in the upper garden, there is a lovely, sparkling pool. It has the perfect position with plenty of sun and panoramic views over the countryside and green hills all around. Next to it is a pretty sauna, changing and exercising room. Perfect place to relax with your family and friends.

There are two terraces outside the villa. One is near the pool and is accessed from the higher level of the villa since it was built on a slope. It is furnished with a couple of iron tables and chairs with shade provided by the nearby trees. The second terrace is a larger terracotta paved terrace outside the lower level of the villa. This is furnished with a long table and chairs for the entire group to dine al fresco.

The entrance leads into a furnished hall with a huge fireplace along one wall. This leads into a short corridor which provides access to a guest toilet and further sitting rooms. On the right the sitting room has a comfortable white, double sofa and armchairs.

At the end of the corridor are another two lounges. On left is a pretty lounge with a beautiful fireplace and  a couple of armchairs and a wooden table with chairs ideal for card games. While to the right is a comfortable lounge with a double sofa and a couple of armchairs. Glass and wood doors lead out to the garden.

To the other side of the floor there is a large, spacious lounge with a huge fireplace and the same wooden ceiling found throughout the ground floor lounges. Like the other rooms pretty Persian carpets cover the floors. The room has a double sofa, a triple sofa and an armchair. Below the windows is a grand piano.

Off this room is a wonderful study. The walls are covered with bookshelves that house a range of books in Italian, English and German. In the centre of the room is a heavy, antique, wooden desk with chair and in three of the corners are comfortable armchairs. A church pew running along one wall provides the room with extra character.

The last two rooms on the floor are the enormous dining room which has a large wooden table in the centre that seat 20 people. This room also has a fireplace to one side, while doors on two walls provide access to the garden and the terracotta terrace outside.

Next to this is the big kitchen with a terracotta floor and a high ceiling of terracotta tiles and wooden beams, typical of Tuscan villas. To one side a fireplace has been changed into a cooking area with modern gas hobs. The kitchen is equipped with a professional oven and an under counter fridge without freezer In the centre of the room is a table with chairs. There is an extra preparation area with a big fridge with separate freezer. The laundry room and a guest toilet is down a flight of stairs from here.

On the first floor there are the 10 bedrooms off the T shaped corridor that runs through the centre. At the end is a door to the upper terrace. The first bedroom, at the far end of the corridor is a beautiful room with pale green walls and access to the garden. The large double bed has a lovely cushioned headboard. In the room is a fireplace, an armchair and wardrobe. En-suite is a bathroom with bath and hand held shower.

Opposite this is a double room with a pretty bed with a green and floral cushioned headboard. In the room is an antique chest of drawers and a wardrobe. En-suite is a bathroom with bath and a handheld shower.

In the centre of the floor there is a unique double bedroom with a high four poster wooden bed. To one side is a fireplace, while below the window is an armchair. There is a built-in wardrobe opposite the bed. En-suite is a bathroom with bath and handheld shower.

The largest bedroom is a suite with a fireplace and a couple of armchairs opposite the double bed with a red, cushioned headboard. In the room is an antique chest of drawers. A dressing room with two wardrobes leads into the en-suite bathroom with a bath and handheld shower. The windows of the bedroom look out to the views of the valley.

Next to this room is a pretty room decorated in blue and pale yellow. There is a double bed, two matching armchairs and a small fireplace. To one side is a wardrobe. The two windows provide the room with light, one looks out towards the views of the valley. En-suite is a bathroom with shower.

Neighbouring this room is a lovely room with warm atmosphere provided by the reds and yellows used to decorate the room. It is a double bedroom with a chest of drawers. The views from the window is out to the pool and of the hills around the villa. En-suite is a bathroom with shower.

To the other side of the floor, at the end of the corridor is a wonderful room with a beautiful double bed with a red cushioned headboard, antique vanity table, fireplace and wardrobe. The en-suite bathroom has a bath with handheld shower.

Next to this is the final double bedroom.The pretty bed has a peach coloured, material headboard. It has an antique chest of drawers, built-in wardrobe, and fireplace. En-suite is a bathroom with bath and handheld shower.

The final two bedrooms are twin rooms. With the day beds head to head, pretty Persian rugs, a built-in wardrobe and a desk with chair. Each has an en-suite bathroom with bath and handheld shower. Both have windows that overlook the surrounding forests. Both these rooms are for a single person only.

8 double bedrooms, they cannot be made into twin bedroom.
2 twin bedrooms for use as a single room, they cannot be made into a double bedroom. Although there are two extra beds for legal reasons two extra people cannot be accommodated, maximum 18 people in the villa.
All bedrooms have an en-suit bathroom and the fireplaces can be used.
The basement of the villa houses a small wine cellar where wine of the estate is stored. Here there is also an antique, stone olive press.
Note that inside the villa there is no mobile reception, it is available in the gardens.

The Montedomini estate is composed of the villa, a small chapel, an olive press and the caretaker's house. The chapel can be used for weddings. The gardens of the villa are completely fenced.
The caretaker lives in a cottage below the villa, at the end of the garden. His house doesn't overlook the villa or gardens.

All additional services including maid, cooking courses and private chef are to be arranged via the owner.

The pool is located above the villa in the garden which is terraced and well maintained. Around the irregular shaped pool is a flagstone paved sundeck with several sunbeds. In one corner is a small waterfall providing a soothing bubbling water sound.

The pool looks out towards fantastic views, over the valley and onto the hills beyond. The hills are covered by pretty forests that provide a wonderful range of colours in the Autumn months. The maximum dimensions of the pool are 12x6 metres and 1.2-2 metres deep. It is open from May to September, weather permitting.

Next to the pool is a pretty, stone building which houses a full bathroom and changing rooms. Inside there is also a sauna and a small exercise room.

The Security Deposit is 900 Euro or equivalent in your own currency. This is collected on your arrival and held by the owner for the duration of your stay. Should you or your party cause any damage at the property contact us straight away so that we can help agree a reasonable settlement. Damage does not mean normal usage or wear and tear.
