Vaniglia at Castellare in Chianti

Vaniglia is a first floor Tuscan villa located in one of the main buildings of Castellare di Chianti. It is found off a communal landing that provides access also to two other villas.
There is a gazebo furnished with a table and chairs a short walk away from the villa. It is located in the hamlet grounds and is for Vaniglia guests private use. It neighbours the outdoors eating areas of Sesamo and the caretaker.
Inside the villa there is an open plan living area. To one side of this room is a small kitchen unit which has gas hobs, an oven and a small fridge.
In the centre of the room is a wooden table and chairs to seat 6 people. To one side is a double sofa and TV. The room is completed by a fireplace, ideal for the cooler Tuscan evenings. off the kitchen area is the bathroom with shower.
The two bedrooms are accessed from a corridor. The first is a double room with a typical Tuscan iron bed and large wardrobe.
The second bedroom is a narrow yet comfortable twin room. In the room is a a chest of drawers.
The outside eating area is not attached to the villa.
Only small dogs allowed.
A barbeque can be supplied if requested when booking.
Airconditioning is available for an extra charge.

Castellare in Chianti is a lovely hamlet in the Tuscan hills near Gaiole in Chianti. It is recently restored with care and to a good standard. There are three buildings which house 9 individual villas, the reception and the custodian's villa.
The large pool is located down a few steps immediately next to the buildings, it's surrounded by a wooden fence with three gates. A pretty pine forest bordering the pool area provides shade.
This wonderful Tuscan hamlet is well positioned in the Chianti hills above Gaiole and about 3.5km from a little village where there is a restaurant. It's surrounded by a cooling forest which keeps it fresh during the hot Tuscan days.
All the individual eating areas are open to the hamlet grounds which makes this the ideal property for those who seek contact with other guests. There is also a quiet road which passes the hamlet, however occasional traffic can be heard.
Pets are allowed at Castellare in Chianti however must remain on a leash in the communal grounds. At the property there is a fenced area especially for pets where they can be let lose to run around.

Pool Info
The pool is full fenced with a wooden fence and netting with three gates for entry. It is located to one side of the hamlet buildings and is overlooked by the cottage and three of the apartments. To one side it is protected by a lovely pine forest which also provides some shade for parts of the day.
The entire area has a lovely English lawn which has several sun-beds. There are traditional metal steps into the pool.
The pool is 12x6 metres and 0.8-2.10 metres deep. It's open from May to October.
Nearest town
The nearest town is Gaiole in Chianti which is about 9km away. In the town there is a selection of shops and restaurants. Various amenities are also available. There is a restaurant in the hamlet of Castagnoli, which is about 3.5km away.

la climatisation a payer en plus. (aprévoir dans le prix de départ)

La propreté, la sympathie et la disponibilité des personnes responsables sur place, la piscine, etc.
Nous avons été assez déçus à notre arrivée lorsque nous avons vu que nous avions un appartement au premier étage sans terrasse.
Nous avons une petite fille de 3 ans qui se couche vers 20h. Nous avons une maison avec jardin en Belgique. Nous ne partons pas en vacances pour devoir rester enfermés dans un appartement dès que notre fille est au lit. Nous en avons fait part à la personne responsable qui nous a montré une table à notre disposition à 50mètres de l'appartement. Hors de question de laisser notre fille seule dans un endroit inconnu. De plus nous ne pouvions pas voir l'appartement de cette table ! Ils nous ont tout de même installé une table au bas de l'escalier. Très gentil mais pas pratique du tout !

équipement de cuisine limité (pas de cafetière, de passoir et d'essoreuse à salade)
les glaces de Castellina in chianti recommandées par le guide du routard et effectivement délicieuses (situé à l'entrée du village)

I like To Tuscany, partly because it has a tremendous range of villas, and partly because (unlike many companies) it has an excellent website that provides what you really want when choosing a villa.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
