What were the highlights of your holiday? Seeing all the famous sights in Rome, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Colossum, St Peters etc, then Venice for our Gonola ride and the beautiful Orchestra's in St Mark's square. But without a doubt just relexing around Il Rattoppo and the pool over-looking the valley.
what was your overall impression of the accommodation? Put quite simply, no words can do any justice as to how wonderful this villa is. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we just would wander around the villa saying to each other how beautiful the villa and surrounding area was.
We went to Italy for our honeymoon, spending 3 days in Rome then 3 days in Venice and finally a week in Il Rattoppo. The honeymoon just got better and better with each location, and we couldn't have wished for our final week in Italy to be any better.
Luciano phoned us at home before we even left England to check if we needed any information about places we wished to visit while we were there so he could get it ready for us. He phone us again while we were in Venice to ask us if everything was ok and give us some final details about the area around the villa, ie supermarkets etc, and to explain that himself and Gisela wouldn't be there when we arrived because they had to go to France for a family wedding for a few days, but said that we would be met by their neighbours Nadia and Felice.
Upon arrive at the villa Nadia and Felice greeted us like long lost friends and then proceeded to show us around the villa and grounds, explaining where everything was. Inside the villa Luciano and Gisella had left us a freshly made loaf of bread and homemade Il Rattoppo wine to greet us, and as a special treat because we were on our honeymoon, a bottle of sparkling wine and some freshly cut roses from the garden, which was a lovely touch and very welcoming.
Later that week Luciano and Gisella invited us to dinner which was fantastic with homemade local Tuscan cuisine.
We got treated like great friends throughout our stay at Il Rattoppo, and will be returning to Italy again sometime in the future and we will not be even bothering to look at any other villas to stay at, for us now there is only one choice, Il Rattoppo.
Bella Tuscana
Did you have any unpleasant surprises? Only the prices of food and drink in Rome and Venice
Do you have any other comments? Can't wait to come back to Italy

Michela,
it was a fantastic week and I would
recommend it to all our friends - it was exactly what we were looking for in
exactly the location where we could explore tuscany/chianti etc , but still
be away from the hussle and bustle in the evenings.
many thanks for your help in selecting the location and also to Sean for
helping us with directions.
regards,
jeremy
The accommodation was wonderful, extremely impressed, could not have asked for any more.
The house and surrounding land including the pool were idyllic and perfect as we spent so much time here - all day every day! Going to Cortona for dinner was also a great highlight of the holiday, it is a beautiful town.
I did not realise that you basically had to have a car in the area we were staying in to get to the shops and restaurants etc.
I would like to say an extra thank you to Mr & Mrs Barra the owners as they went out of their way to make us feel welcome and spent a lot of time on the first day helping us get set up with a car etc and showing us the local area including shops etc - they were a fantastic help.

The accomodation was fantasic - in fact you do not do it justice on your website. When we first arrived we walked about hugging ourselves because it felt like we’d died and gone to heaven - it was that good!!
The pool, and the fact that it overlooked the most stunning valley and also that it was in the middle of nowhere and so was extremely tranquil. We absolutely loved it and we plan to go back.

Il Rattoppo is a jewel. A spacious house within a larger property that has been superbly restored and with breathtaking views of the Valdichiana. It sits right on top of a vineyard and in the heart of working agricultural countryside and within striking distance of so many places of interest. We had a wonderful time there, not least savouring the variety of colourful
sunsets. The owners, Gisela and Luciano, are charm itself. I’ve had colder welcomes from memebers of my own family. Throughout our stay there were unswervingly friendly and helpful and made us feel so welcome. The facilities laid out are equally superb. A private area to relax and barbecue and the house’s swimming pool see to everyone’s needs.

Dear Michela
Please find below answers to your questionaire. We both enjoyed the stay at Il Rattoppo tremendously and cannot fault anything. The hospitality offered by Luciano and Gisella was exceptional and we will remember this holiday for a very long time. We obviously hope to return sometime.
Overall impression: Excellent location, very clean and well maintained. The swimming pool and facilities were excellent. Very high standard of accomodation and overall superb value for money. I will strongly recommend Il Rattoppo to our friends.
Highlights: The greetings offered by Nadia and Felice when we arrived. The hospitality offered by Luciano and Gisella especially being invited to their party on the 15th. Then to top it all Luciano and Gisella took us for a meal in Piensa to a lovely little restaurant on the Thursday. We then travelled to Montelcino for our friends daughters wedding - I must admit that this was the highlight of our holiday but the stay at Il Ratoppo put us in the right mood for a great weekend.
Unpleasant surprises: The queue on arriving in Pisa to collect the hire car. We were in the Hertz queue for over an hour but we know that this was nothing to do with your service.
Regards
Brian and Barbara

Highlights: The hosts, Luciano and Gisela were extremely friendly and helpful and
made us feel more like guests than paying visitors.
