Aia di Ama is located centrally within the Chianti Classico wine producing region, just 3km from the delightful town of Lecchi. The villa has wonderful views across the local vineyards and olive groves and is a perfect base for exploring the region as three of the main Chianti towns – Castellina, Radda and Gaiole - are within a 10km radius of the Villa and Siena is just 30km away. The villa is traditionally built using local stone and has terracotta tiled floors and beamed ceilings throughout. There are four bedrooms and two bathrooms at the villa, which comfortably accommodates 8 people.
The swimming pool is located close to the furnished terrace of the villa and is just a few metres from the villa. Sitting by the pool is the perfect place to appreciate the beautiful gardens of the villa and enjoy the scent from the flowers surrounding the pool. The pool is accessed by ladder steps and there is a shower at the poolside for additional convenience.

Outside, the paved terrace is furnished with tables, chairs, sun loungers and umbrellas and there are further sun loungers at the pool. To one side of the villa built in to the external stairs is a barbeque and pizza/bread oven that is perfect for al fresco dining.

From the terrace you overlook the gardens and surrounding countryside. Also to the side of the villa is the laundry/storage room of the Villa. Inside you will find a washing machine, clothes dryers, ironing board and iron.

Aia di Ama is arranged over two levels making the most of the natural position of the villa and affording you great views. The main entrance to the villa is on the ground floor close to the parking area but there are also doors leading from the first floor directly out to the furnished terrace and pool.

The ground floor entrance leads you into the large lounge/dining area with a double height, beamed ceiling and terracotta tiled floor. The double-height aspect gives the room a spacious and bright feel. It has two comfortable sofas, a table with bench seats, TV, Hi-fi and a fireplace with wood burning stove.

Passing under the stairs that lead up to the first floor, brings you to the kitchen/dining area with built in electric oven, gas hobs, microwave, fridge and freezer, toaster, table and chairs. To the rear of the kitchen is the entrance to the ground floor bathroom, which has WC, sink and shower and is tiled throughout.

On the opposite side of the corridor is the ground floor bedroom. This is bright and airy and has a large iron framed double bed, a built in wardrobe, chest of drawers and writing desk and chair.

The stairs lead up to the first floor where there are three further bedrooms and a bathroom. The bathroom has a full size bath and overhead shower.

To either side of the bathroom are double bedrooms. The first bedroom has a beautiful iron-framed bed, solid wood furniture throughout and high-beamed ceiling. There is also a double-door leading out to the furnished terrace of the villa.

The second double bedroom is the largest of the upstairs bedrooms and also has an iron-framed bed, built-in wardrobe, drawers, a writing desk and chair and also has doors leading out to the terrace.
Opposite this second double bedroom is the last of the bedrooms of the villa. This is a large room, which makes use of its space and sloping ceilings to offer a comfortable room with two single beds, a wardrobe, chest of drawers and linen chest for storage. There is a small window and also a dormer window with views over the countryside to give the room plenty of light.

A lovely traditional Tuscan stone cottage just 3km from the delightful village of Lecchi.
The pool has a shower area for added convenience.

SAT TV is news only.
Both terraces are furnished.

Pros It was very clean and well equipped. We are a family consisting of adult children, a grandchild, teenage children and a ten year old and the villa catered for all of us. The garden was extensive and very pretty. It was isolated but close enough to a town with shops and a supermarket. The pizza oven is fantastic and we loved our evening of home made pizzas.

Pros The villa was exactly as described from the website. Beautifully landscaped gardens and views. Even picked a few fresh lemons from one of the three trees on the property. We enjoyed our walk into the town of Lecchi and our cup of cappuccino from the local grocery. There was plenty of information left in the villa about places to visit and recommendations for restaurants in the area as well. Very well equipped with kitchen appliances, dishware, wine glasses, etc.We especially enjoyed the peaceful and private surroundings of the villa. The villa was very clean upon arrival and we made ourselves at home for the week.
Cons The only concern we had was that there were no screens on the little bedroom/bathroom windows. The weather was pleasant (low 80s during the day....60s at night) but had to always draw the curtain as was concerned a bird might fly in. Actually one did fly into the villa but we were able to chase it outside! Also the doors leading out to the patio from the bedrooms could also use screens as well? Not sure if adding the screens might take away the cottage charm of the villa? Also it would be helpful if there were English instructions for operating the oven and the washing machine outside. The owners were very nice when they checked us in but do not speak any English at all! Definitely some communication issues there but we were able to figure most things out. Somehow we figured how the washing machine operated but we never did use the oven.
Local attractions We enjoyed a delicious meal at Restaurant Malborghetto in Lecchi. Visiting the local family run winery Casanuova di Ama and purchased some wine as well as the olive oil! Also toured the Volpaia (Rhadda) winery and would recommend taking their tour as well.Took day trips to Montepulciano, San Gimignano, and Sienna. Great pizza at the "Pizza Pie" in Rhadda. We also ate at "Bar Dante" in Rhadda where you must try the boar stew and pappardelle. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinners out but also must recommend hiring a chef to cook at least one dinner during your stay. Our chef was "Michela" and she was fabulous. After she brought out each course of the meal she took the time to explain the Tuscan/Italian tradition behind it. She also did all the cleanup afterwards as well! Highly recommend hiring your private chef!

Cons Eigentlich gibt's hier nichts auszusetzen.

Sehr holperig & löchrig, also Obacht ;)

Restaurant in Lecchi- Montalb??

Pros Wunderbar angelegter Garten, liebevoll bepflanzt!

Pros The house is well located for excursions to many places, and is well maintained and very clean. The area is peaceful. The little Bar (coffee shop) in tiny Lecchi (a jewel of a town) is a wonderful place for morning coffee. Paolo who runs the Bar and the small food provision shop next door is extremely nice and helpful.
Cons Lighting in living room for reading could be improved. Toaster could be added to kitchen.
Local attractions Too many to single out. This area of Chianti is loaded with excellent restaurants, castles and other interesting sites, and fun week-end markets

Nearest town

Aia di Ama is located 3km drive from Lecchi in Chianti. Lecchi is a small village but it has a good grocery store with provisions counter, a café bar which opens from Easter to October and an excellent restaurant that is open all year round.6km from the villa is the village of San Sano, again with good restaurant and grocery store. Also 6km away is the Chianti town of Radda which has shops, restaurants and a supermarket.
