Aia di Ama is located centrally within the Chianti Classico wine producing region, just 3km from the delightful town of Lecchi. The villa has wonderful views across the local vineyards and olive groves and is a perfect base for exploring the region as three of the main Chianti towns – Castellina, Radda and Gaiole - are within a 10km radius of the Villa and Siena is just 30km away. The villa is traditionally built using local stone and has terracotta tiled floors and beamed ceilings throughout. There are four bedrooms and two bathrooms at the villa, which comfortably accommodates 8 people.
The swimming pool is located close to the furnished terrace of the villa and is just a few metres from the villa. Sitting by the pool is the perfect place to appreciate the beautiful gardens of the villa and enjoy the scent from the flowers surrounding the pool. The pool is accessed by ladder steps and there is a shower at the poolside for additional convenience.

Outside, the paved terrace is furnished with tables, chairs, sun loungers and umbrellas and there are further sun loungers at the pool. To one side of the villa built in to the external stairs is a barbeque and pizza/bread oven that is perfect for al fresco dining.

From the terrace you overlook the gardens and surrounding countryside. Also to the side of the villa is the laundry/storage room of the Villa. Inside you will find a washing machine, clothes dryers, ironing board and iron.

Aia di Ama is arranged over two levels making the most of the natural position of the villa and affording you great views. The main entrance to the villa is on the ground floor close to the parking area but there are also doors leading from the first floor directly out to the furnished terrace and pool.

The ground floor entrance leads you into the large lounge/dining area with a double height, beamed ceiling and terracotta tiled floor. The double-height aspect gives the room a spacious and bright feel. It has two comfortable sofas, a table with bench seats, TV, Hi-fi and a fireplace with wood burning stove.

Passing under the stairs that lead up to the first floor, brings you to the kitchen/dining area with built in electric oven, gas hobs, microwave, fridge and freezer, toaster, table and chairs. To the rear of the kitchen is the entrance to the ground floor bathroom, which has WC, sink and shower and is tiled throughout.

On the opposite side of the corridor is the ground floor bedroom. This is bright and airy and has a large iron framed double bed, a built in wardrobe, chest of drawers and writing desk and chair.

The stairs lead up to the first floor where there are three further bedrooms and a bathroom. The bathroom has a full size bath and overhead shower.

To either side of the bathroom are double bedrooms. The first bedroom has a beautiful iron-framed bed, solid wood furniture throughout and high-beamed ceiling. There is also a double-door leading out to the furnished terrace of the villa.

The second double bedroom is the largest of the upstairs bedrooms and also has an iron-framed bed, built-in wardrobe, drawers, a writing desk and chair and also has doors leading out to the terrace.
Opposite this second double bedroom is the last of the bedrooms of the villa. This is a large room, which makes use of its space and sloping ceilings to offer a comfortable room with two single beds, a wardrobe, chest of drawers and linen chest for storage. There is a small window and also a dormer window with views over the countryside to give the room plenty of light.

A lovely traditional Tuscan stone cottage just 3km from the delightful village of Lecchi.
The pool has a shower area for added convenience.

SAT TV is news only.
Both terraces are furnished.

Sehr holperig & löchrig, also Obacht ;)

Restaurant in Lecchi- Montalb??

Pros Wunderbar angelegter Garten, liebevoll bepflanzt!

Pros The house is well located for excursions to many places, and is well maintained and very clean. The area is peaceful. The little Bar (coffee shop) in tiny Lecchi (a jewel of a town) is a wonderful place for morning coffee. Paolo who runs the Bar and the small food provision shop next door is extremely nice and helpful.
Cons Lighting in living room for reading could be improved. Toaster could be added to kitchen.
Local attractions Too many to single out. This area of Chianti is loaded with excellent restaurants, castles and other interesting sites, and fun week-end markets

Pros The surroundings were beautiful- The house was immaculately cleaned and the check in was easy (a little Italian would be more helpful next time though)
Cons We stayed in late October which was the low season so much in the surrounding area was closed or had limited opening house so it was a little too remote for that time of year.
Local attractions We loved the restaurant Marlbrough in the town Leeche- it was very good and convient and the other huge highlight of the trip was the cooking class with/at Toscana Mia- we all really enjoyed it.

Local attractions Malborghetto restaurant is absolutely wonderful. Simone the chef is very charismatic and a wonderful cookery teacher taking us all for a cookery session. He is also a wine sommelier and matches the wines to the food.

Pros What's not to like?! It was a superb roomy villa, well appointed, beautiful rooms, great gardens, quiet location, fabulous pool and lots of different areas to relax in. Country views of rolling hills, grapevines and olive groves. We even made pizza in the outdoor pizza oven- easy because the wood fuel was there and ready for us!
Cons The only thing we didnt like was that we couldnt stay for longer! We didn't have any problems with the villa at all. It was a pleasure to stay there.
Local attractions Lecchi, Radda and other surrounding villages were delightful. Our local cafe/wine bar, run by the friendly Grinaldi family and Sam, was a favourite evening stop for a glass or two of 'Chianti Classico'- the local red! In Radda we bought beautiful Tuscany pottery and my sister-in-law bout an exquisite bangle- all from Neltempo- a must visit for art, ceramics and unique clothes. The macilleria in Panzano is a unique experience, the rock-star butcher is a one of a kind!

Scenery, house, yard and pool is awesome.
Dishwasher is definitely missing and it wouldn't be a problem to integrate it into the nice kitchen.
Local attractions Radda, Castellina, Gaiole sind nette kleine Ortschaften. Siena ist grandios! Radda, Castellina, Gaiole are pretty and interesting little cities. Siena is a blast!

Pros I visted Aia di Ama today to make some new images which are loaded above, I confess to have eaten some of the cherries immediately after photographing them.

Since my last visit with the camera the owners have place some high quality outdoor iron furniture dressed with soft comfortable cusions, there is a ping pong table, the front hedge is cut down so the views have opened up, they have planted salads and vegetables in old wine barrels for the guests, inside there were some nice new light fittings and wifi throughout.
Cons The swimming pool is 10 x 5 meters, perfect for a cooling dip but not for the long distance swimmer.
Local attractions Halfway between Lecchi in Chianti and Radda in Chianti there are 20 restaurants with 10 km to choose from.

What was your overall impression of the accommodation?    All in the party LOVED it! It was extremely clean, with plenty of amenities. The homeowner obviously cared about the place. She even checked on us to see if there were any needs or problems.
Did you have any unpleasant surprises during your stay with us? No.
Do you have any other comments regarding the accommodation or service? I would recommend the villa to everyone. We all absolutely loved it. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Was waren die Highlights Ihres Urlaubs?

What were the highlights of your holiday? Running down to the tabacchi and back every morning (I'm a marathon runner so it wasn't a stretch!), visiting beautiful Siena, and having meals out at the local restaurants.
what was your overall impression of the accommodation?    Fantastic. Beautifully clean and looked as though it had been restored last week. I had asked about the kitchen provisions as I am a keen cook, but I need not have worried. The kitchen was the best supplied I have ever seen, a whole range of implements, utensils, and cooking tins, trays, dishes and everything else. Stovetop espresso makers in 4 different sizes, full cutlery and crockery to set out a 5 course meal for 8, linen for the table, more glassware than you coudl ever use....perfect. The pool was pristine and kept that way throughout by early morning visits when we were asleep, and the villa in general was very well set out. Fantastic run down to the local tabacchi that was better stocked than the nearest supermarket! There might not be the same range of choice, but believe me you don't need it. Superb red wine for one euro fifty and wonderful fresh cooked breads and treats. All in all absolutely nothing to complain about and a lot to rave about!
Did you have any unpleasant surprises? None whatsoever.
Do you have any other comments?

What were the highlights of your holiday? Waking up, jumping in the pool, eating, drinking, getting in the car and visiting Radda and other places in the region. Our kids loved it too.
what was your overall impression of the accommodation?    Excellent. Even better than we expected.
Did you have any unpleasant surprises? Snake swimming in the pool - more amusing than unpleasant.
The owners initially seemed a little unhappy that we didnt pay a E500 deposit which we were told when booking we should not worry about. They seemed happy when we left so it wasnt a problem.
Do you have any other comments? The stay in Tuscany was a brillint way to finish our holiday. We loved it.

Nearest town

Aia di Ama is located 3km drive from Lecchi in Chianti. Lecchi is a small village but it has a good grocery store with provisions counter, a café bar which opens from Easter to October and an excellent restaurant that is open all year round.6km from the villa is the village of San Sano, again with good restaurant and grocery store. Also 6km away is the Chianti town of Radda which has shops, restaurants and a supermarket.
