Casa Il Pino is a modern 2 bedroom ground floor apartment situated a 1 km walk away from Cavriglia which is known as "The door of the Chianti". The villa is located at the end of a quiet road and is just 10 minutes from the A1 motorway so the many of the major outlet stores of Tuscany such as Prada and Gucci are all within easy reach and yet Casa Il Pino is well placed for visiting the beautiful Chianti region with its rolling vine and olive tree covered hills.
There is lovely covered terrace with Barbeque grill to the front of the villa perfect for dining al fresco or just to sit and enjoy the wonderful countryside and well-maintained gardens that have huge open lawns. The swimming pool garden is completed fenced and well furnished; this is a peaceful area although you can hear some traffic. The pool, which is good for a cooling dip after a warm day sightseeing, has internal steps, there is a WC shower room by the pool too.
Casa Il Pino is a ground floor apartment, above live the owners who are a couple with their grown up daughter. These three family members may use the pool but are sensitive to guests needs.
The entrance of the Casa Il Pino is into the ample and airy living area which has double doors that open onto the garden. There is a standard sofa and arm chair and TV Sat, DVD and CD player.
To the left is a well-fitted kitchen with gas hobs, electric oven and fridge freezer. There is a table and chairs with enough space for four people to eat; a window provides a view across the gardens towards the pool.
Ahead is a comfortable twin and double bedroom, both are fitted with bright and modern furniture of good quality, next to the bedrooms is the bathroom with bathtub and showerhead fitting. There is a washing machine.
Casa Il Pino is a comfortable house ideal for a young family with its large garden and fenced pool. On request when booking the twin room can be made into a double, if you do not request this you will find the villa as described.
A fifth person can be accommodated at the property on a foldaway bed which will be placed in the twin bedroom.
There is a friendly family pet, a 6 year old German shepherd although the dog has no access to the rental part of the property

The swimming pool garden is completed fenced and well furnished, this is a peacful area although you can hear some traffic. The pool which is good for a cooling dip after a warm day sightseeing has internal steps, there is a WC shower room near it.
The pool is 6 metres by 12 metres and from 1.20 to 1.70 meters deep. It is open May through September.
Nearest town
Cavriglia is approximately 1km from the villa. Here there is a choice of shops and restaurants. Further away is Montevarchi which has all amenities including a very large hypermarket.

What were the highlights of your holiday? Peace, quiet and tranquility. Almost exclusive use of a very clean and tidy pool with toys, lilo's etc and plenty of easy chairs, loungers and so forth. Spacious villa with standard items like toilet rolls, shampoo, soap, tea/coffee, candles already in place.
What was your overall impression of the accommodation? Very good. Helpful, freindly owners who had left some gifts of wine, jam, cakes, fresh flowers etc. Good standard of accomodation with everything you might need including a kettle, which for us tea drinking British is essential. As usual with all holiday accomodation, settee and/or armchairs were lacking (settee was more of a chaise long affair), although this didn't ditract from our enjoyment, may have been a little more comfortable in the later evening. Outdoor accomodation very good with barbeque, separate shaded dining area and plenty of chairs.
Did you have any unpleasant surprises during your stay with us? No, mosquito repellent probably a must, but not a problem with cintronella candles etc, even when eating outdoors in the evening.
Do you have any other comments regarding the accommodation or service? Apart from the settee mentioned above, the accomodation was superb and highly recommended. If you wanted a peaceful break in Tuscany, with a pool then this would rate 10/10.

The villa and the family were lovely. Pool very clean and accom also. We were very pleased with it all and found an amazing restaurant nearby in Caravaglio excellent all together. Loved the hol and Tuscany absolutley gorgeous.

I like To Tuscany, partly because it has a tremendous range of villas, and partly because (unlike many companies) it has an excellent website that provides what you really want when choosing a villa.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
