The raised terrace of Uva has irresistible views for miles over vineyards and olive groves by day and by night of the twinkling lights of the valley.

Entering up six steps Uva is all on one floor and has an independent entrance from the south East side of the villa. There is an ample kitchen diner with a living area with a comfortable sofa.

There are two lovely double bedrooms and one bathroom with shower.

The second double bedroom, like the rest of the villa, has the typical Tuscan wooden beamed ceilings and terracotta floors.
There are wonderful views from this villa.
The village of Radda in Chianti is a short 5 minute walk from the villa up a steep track.  Please note that the track is not suitable for buggies or people with walking difficulties. The village can also be reached on foot using the roadway (2km walk).

Double beds can be converted into twins.

Pros We chose UVA because of the location, walkable to Radda in Chianti. The apartment is situated at the bottom of a very steep hill walk up to Radda and the temperatures were in the 30's making it heavy going walking up to dinner.
Sara the owner was very helpful and friendly with lots of tips on directions around the area.
It is also situated very near to visit Siena,25 minute easy drive.
Cons Lack of sun loungers at the property. The pool is a 300 metre walk away from the apartment with only four sun loungers available.the other apartment took all four so there were only chairs left, not ideal to sunbathe on. If there had been two loungers for each apartment on the private patio that would have been better. The kettle didn't work. The Mosquitos bites were a nightmare! If the apartment Gisole is occupied you can hear every thing they say as there is an interconnecting door which could do with double doors on to minimise this.
Local attractions La Bottega at Volpaia(7km) was by far our favourite restaurant for the ambience and delicious food especially at lunch time.It is very busy so arrive early. We were disappointed with the Radda in Chianti restaurants,as they were very touristy with some over the top prices for the standard of food. Visit Cortona ,Volterra and Montepulcino all pretty medieval towns.

Pros Location, location, location... as they say. The setting around Uva is idyllic. Waking up each morning to look out over the rolling hills of vineyards was fantastic. The terrace is ideally positioned to take in morning & afternoon sun, and a few glasses of Chianti Classico later on. Rooms are large, and everything in the apartment worked. It was also very clean. Owners are friendly and helpfull. Ceperano is very neat/ well kept.
Cons Can't think of anything really, it was all good. The pool wasn't open but that was due to the inclement weather. We didn't attempt the steep walk up to Radda as the field had been ploughed and was muddy (again, the weather).
Local attractions Pizza Pie in town was excellent - we ate there 4 times in a week. Owner & his family / staff very friendly. Monster size pizzas. Also went to San Sano - excellent meal at La Grotta della Rana. Passed through (& stopped for drinks in) Castellina in Chianti twice, nice little town. Also definitely worth visting San Gimignano. Top place for lunch - Bar dell'Orso in Monterrigioni - great value but get there early as the staff start disappearing later on.

Pros The location of Uva at Ceperano in the centre of a family run vineyard was just idyllic. The accomodation was much larger than we expected with a large terrace for eating outside, enjoying the views and listening to the birdlife. We won't forget the "Chianti Cuckoo" which was on the go morning to evening!! A real bonus was whilst being in a rural location a steep climb from the back of the property took you up into Radda in Chianti. (Thank you to previous reviewers for recommending a torch!) Radda is a lovely village oozing with character and some lovely restaurants. The family who own Ceperano were charming, nearby but not intrusive in the slightest. All but one of the other properties were empty which was another bonus as it made the environment even more peaceful.
We would definitely return.
Cons The other couple at Ceperano were in an adjoining property to Uva. The 2 properties were separated by a door so we could hear them in the kitchen quite clearly at that point. This was no problem elsewhere as the walls were pretty thick.
Local attractions In Radda we would recommend Il Forchettas restaurant. The ravioli was stupendous. The tiny hillside village of Volpaia was our favourite, with Bar Ucci being just the place to have coffee or lunch and feel totally relaxed in this little place that hasn't changed for 100's of years. Siena was just beautiful. We went on a Sunday and it was surprisingly uncrowded. It was the feast of St Catherine the patron saint of Siena so we were treated to citizens dressed in medieval costume parading with bands and flags throughout the city. The cathedral is mind blowing. Florence was lovely but the crowds spoilt it even though it was only April. The Uffizi though is a must and should be booked in advance on the internet. Exploring the Chianti region with all its historic villages and beautiful country side is just a delight in itself. We found the roads virtually empty apart from April 25th - Liberation Day which was a public holiday. No problem - we found ourselves celebrating with the Italians at a festival in Panzano in Chianti. This time a medieval pageant and parade complete with horses and oxen - it was also a festival hoping for a good crop of grapes for the Chianti wine.

Nearest town

The Chianti town Radda is a 5minute drive away. This town is also within walking distance, it is a 15minutes uphill walk through the vineyards from Ceperano to Radda.
