La Fontanella

La Fontanella is fantastically located in the heart of the Chianti, just on the edge of a quaint stone village filled with Tuscan character and charm. Several of the main Chianti vineyards can easily be reached for wine tastings, these include Brolio, Dievole and Meleto.
In the fenced garden there is a small prefabricated pool, partly raised above ground. Along one side of it is a pretty sun-deck furnished with a couple of sun-beds and an umbrella. The pool is well hidden from the nearby village road by a large laurel hedge.
Inside the villa there is a spacious lounge with a double sofa and sat TV. Passing under a terracotta arch there is the kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is with gas hobs, oven, and a small fridge. The indoor dining table is a breakfast table with three stools.
From the lounge through another terracotta arch is a corridor off which there is access to the large double bedroom with a big mirrored wardrobe. The spacious bathroom with shower is at the end of the corridor.
In the village there is a good restaurant.
The owner has an apartment above La Fontanella which they use occasionally on weekends. They do not use the pool.

Pool Info
The pool is located in the large manicured garden just a few steps away from the terrace. It's a small pre-fabricated pool that is partly raised above ground. There is a sun-deck with a couple of sun-beds on one side.
The pool is well hidden from the village road by a laurel hedge, and provides a lovely spot to relax after a day of sight-seeing.
The pool is 7.5 x 4.5 metres, it is open from May to September.
Nearest town
The small peaceful village of San Sano has one restaurant, called La Grotta della Rana, a small grocery store, and a small church with Sunday morning services at 10am. This medieval village is very popular with walkers and cyclists, surrounded as it is by pathways, which are ideal for early morning walks and bike rides.

Wie war Ihr Gesamteindruck der Unterbrungung? Wenn man - wir wir - zum ersten Mal in die Toskana fährt, erwartet man die durch die Medien verbreitete Idealsicht. Wir waren erstaunt, dass sie auch das fast hielt, was man so von der Toskana erwartet. Angefangen vom Haus, mitr dem wir sehr zufrieden waren,. wewiter mit der Landschaft, in der das Haus lag sowie dem Land und den Menschen. Noch überraschter warewn wir, mit welcher Üppigkeit in dem Haus mit Wasser umgegangen wurde. Egal, welchen Han man aufdrehte, das Wasser floss nicht einfach, es schoss aus dem Kran. Ebenmso die Dusche - eine Wohltat!

I like To Tuscany, partly because it has a tremendous range of villas, and partly because (unlike many companies) it has an excellent website that provides what you really want when choosing a villa.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
