La Strolla is a lovely cottage in the Tuscany countryside just 4km from Poggibonsi. The cottage is located on a family run farm that produces Chianti wine and vegetables. A short walk down the road there is a restaurant.
In the well maintain private fenced garden there is a private oval above ground swimming pool. The garden is furnished with a table and chairs for dining al fresco, sun beds and a swing for children. Also available for guest use is a shared swimming pool a short walk from the villa. The shared pool is also used by the owners and guests of 2 other properties.
To one side of the pretty garden there is a large stone barbeque. On the other side of the cottage there is a terracotta-paved terrace that has a second table with chairs and an umbrella. The entire property is fenced guaranteeing privacy from the owner’s houses that are nearby.
Inside La Strolla there is a small kitchen with dining area. The kitchen is equipped with all utensils, a stove, gas hobs, small fridge/freezer percolator and a dishwasher. There is a wooden table with chairs for dining and to one side there is a TV.
A pretty stone paved corridor leads to the main spacious bedroom that has a double bed and access to the garden. In this room there is a tiny en-suite bathroom with an open shower.
Off the corridor there is a larger bathroom with shower. To the other side of the kitchen there is a smaller second bedroom with a double bed and a single bed. From this room there are lovely views of the surrounding hills covered with fields and forests.
Stairs lead down from the corridor to the lower floor that has a double bed, small laundry area with a washing machine that also includes a simple bathroom with showering facilities. The sleeping area is divided from a sitting area by a screen.
La Strolla is ideal for a family holiday with excellent access to all the historical sights.

The private pool is located next to the house. It is an oval above ground pool with several steps to enter. Immediately around the pool there is a laurel hedge. The pool is ideal for a cooling dip but not for swimming.

Guests of La Strolla also have access to a shared pool which is located a short distance from the villa. The shared pool is also used by the owners and guests of 2 other properties. This pool is a built sunken pool.

Was waren die Highlights Ihres Urlaubs? Wir waren sehr beeindruckt von der Landschaft und besonders vom Pool an unserem Haus. Wir hatten ein Stück das Grundstück hoch einen riesen Pool mit Wiese und Liegen für uns allein. Das war wunderschön, vorallem wenn man mit Kindern dort ist.
Wie war Ihr Gesamteindruck von der Unterbringung? Super gut. Nur dass es kaum Schutz vor Mücken gab. Wir haben erst einmal an den Fenstern in den Schlafzimmern Fliegengitter angebracht. Aber sonst war alles gut.
Gab es unangenehme Überraschungen? Bis auf die zwei riesen Kröten im Garten nicht ;-)
Haben Sie andere Anmerkungen? Ein großes Lob noch an unseren Vermieter Emiliano. Er hat uns quasi jeden Wunsch von den Augen abgelesen. Er war sehr hilfsbereit und sehr nett.

What were the highlights of your holiday? The weather and location were perfect. The house was in a quiet area just like we wanted.

Overall impression: Excellent - clean, good space, comfortable beds, lovely garden and pool, very friendly owners. They also provided citronella candles, which were very useful (see below).
Highlights: The beautiful countryside and towns, the people, the villa and the relaxation. The food and wine were particularly good!
Unpleasant surprises: The mosquitos! I would warn people that, during the summer and in the countryside of Tuscany, these can be pretty bad - we were all bitten badly despite burning citronella candles and coils.

Overall impression: Spotlessly clean and bigger than expected (both building and garden) Kitchen a little basic - we are all foodies and there was no food prep surface except the dining room table (a visit to Ikea?) Owners very friendly and didn't take the damage deposit (even though we had 2 dogs with us) although we did offer it as we arrived. The Strolla could do with a few garden recliners and some comfy seating inside for after dinner - this didn't spoil anything but would have made it even better.
Highlights: Sienna and Castellino in Chianti. 3 dinners at the local restaurant where the food is excellent and cheap and very drinkable house wine is 4 euros per litre!

I like To Tuscany, partly because it has a tremendous range of villas, and partly because (unlike many companies) it has an excellent website that provides what you really want when choosing a villa.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
