Podere Firenzuola is located a short distance from Orvieto with fantastic views of the medieval Umbrian city. This villa is a traditional, stone, Umbrian villa that has been comfortably furnished and is surrounded by a pretty, fenced and well maintained garden.
Directly in front of the villa is the large pool which is surrounded by fencing and a hedge making it safe for children. At the pool is a pretty pergola with table and chairs for dining al fresco, however there are no views from this part of the garden.
Entering the villa there is a spacious lounge furnished with a double sofa and two armchairs around a large fireplace. The floor is paved with large terracotta tiles.
To the other side of the room is a wooden dining table with chairs. A well-equipped sideboard is against one wall. To the far end of the room is a small guest toilet.
From the dining area there is access to the kitchen which has a door leading out to the furnished garden and pool area. The kitchen is nicely done and well equipped with gas hobs, microwave, oven, fridge with separate freezer and dishwasher. There is a fireplace in one corner, perfect to barbeque on wet days.
Stairs lead from the lounge to the first floor where there is the sleeping area. One of the bedrooms is a room with a full size single bed. This is perfect for children however adults will also be comfortable in it. There is a small, simple wardrobe with mirror, writing desk and chest of drawers.
The master bedroom is a large room with polished wooden bed. In the room is a large matching wardrobe with mirror and a chest of drawers. To one side stairs lead up to a room which is closed to guests. The window of the bedroom looks out over the pool.
The third bedroom is smaller room with double bed. It also has views of the pool area. In the room is a large, typical Italian painted wardrobe.
The villa is simply but comfortably furnished. It's ideal for families.
The double bedrooms cannot be made into twins.
The garden is well maintained with mostly lawns, with several places to sit and relax. There are wonderful views of Orvieto from the villa.
It is possible to walk to a winery for wine tastings.

The pool is surrounded by a terracotta paving dotted with sun-beds, and a lovely, well maintained lawn. It is an excellent place to relax. There are no views from the pool area. It is 6x12 metres, 1.35 metres deep. It's open from May to October. Pool towels are provided.
The pool is located a few metres away from the front of the villa. It is completely surrounded by a tall hedge. A large wooden gate provides access to the pool area from the villa garden. On one side of the pool there is a wooden pergola shading a table with chairs.
Nearest town
The historical town of Orvieto is only 7km away where there are plenty of shops, restaurants and a twice weekly market. It is possible to take a train from Orvieto into Rome, Florence, Arezzo and Chiusi, as well as Perugia and Siena.

Orvieto ist eine beeindruckende Stadt mit zahlreichen leckeren Restaurants.

Het uitzicht, het complete huis en de ruimte en het goed onderhouden zwembed. OOk het contact met de eigenaar was zeer plezierig en verder was het erg prettig dat de gehele tuin was voorzien van een goede omheining. Voor kleine kinderen toch een must!
Helemaal niets. Of het zou de sprinkler installatie zijn die er in combinatie met de temperatuur voor heeft gezorgd dat beide auto's onder hele vervelende vlekken zitten.
Een tip voor volgende bezoekers is dan ook een hoes mee te nemen voor de auto.

De ligging van het huis zorgt ervoor dat je veel privacy hebt en volledige rust in een prachtig panorama.
Het zwembad biedt de nodige verfrissing en het huis heeft alle nodige comfort.
Geen opmerkingen
Restaurants in Orvieto waar wij heel lekker hebben gegeten: Osteria Numero Uno, la Bottigleria, Trattoria del orso, Trattoria del moro.

Although only minutes away from all services, one would think that you were miles from anywhere, lost in the vineyards, high on a hilltop with magnificent views. Very rural setting centrally located to exploring lower Tuscany and Umbria. Close proximity to Orvieto, our favorite hill city. Hosts/owners were available and respondent to any/all needs. Better than shown on website. Pool was big and the house very well kept and appointed.
Lots of great restaurants 7 minutes away in Orvieto.
also, since there was a brand new grill near the pool, we grilled and cooked. Full size supermarket only 3 minutes away.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
