Ideal for an informal family break, Poggio a Ronco offers space across two floors. On the ground floor, there is the kitchen and dining room as well as a range of comfortable social areas. These include a spacious living room, kitchen, dining area and a guest bathroom with laundry facilities. There is an additional lounge area on the first floor equipped with TV and Playstation popular with the younger members of the party.
Days can be whiled away in the garden, taking in the sights and smells of the Tuscan landscape or relaxing by the pool. Alternatively, head out to the nearby Pratomagno mountain range mapped with hundreds of kilometres of walking and hiking trails. Sightseers have an impressive choice of Arezzo 20 Km away, Florence 55Km away, and Siena 60 km away, while wine lovers will want to head over to the Chianti 40km.

Mit 11 Personen (6 Erwachsene, 2 Jugendliche, 2 Kinder, 1 Kleinkind) und einem Hund haben wir als große Familie im August zwei wunderschöne Wochen Urlaub in der Villa Poggio a Ronco verbracht. Von Anfang an begeisterte uns das Haus mit seinem typischen toskanischen Stiel, mitten in der Natur und mit toller Aussicht. Das Highlight war natürlich der große gepflegte Pool. Dieser hat für viel Spaß gesorgt und war mit seiner Tiefe (90cm bis 180cm) auch sehr gut für die Kinder geeignet. Für ein sicheres Gefühl sorgte die Umzäunung des Poolgeländes. Das Haus bot ausreichend Platz und Rückzugsmöglichkeiten, war sauber, liebevoll eingerichtet und mit allem Notwendigen ausgestattet. Praktisch waren die vielen Bäder, mit Duschen und WC. Als anstrengend wurden von uns nur die starke Hitze dieses Sommers und die vielen Stechmücken und Bremsen empfunden. Im Haus war man davor einigermaßen geschützt, doch sollte man sich mit ausreichend Insektenschutzmittel versorgen. Auch auf dem großen Gelände gab es schattige Plätze, in die man bei Bedarf vor der Hitze fliehen konnte.
Die Lage des Hauses ist wirklich sehr schön, aber einsam und nur über einen langen, steilen und steinigen Weg zu erreichen. Wer für sich sein möchte, die Ruhe und Natur liebt, ist hier genau richtig. Möchte man in den Ort, oder die nähere Umgebung erkunden, ist ein Auto unverzichtbar. Im Ort gibt es zwei kleinere Supermärkte. Für uns war das Angebot ausreichend, lediglich über eine Bäckerei hätten wir uns gefreut. Als Deutsche konnten wir uns nur schwer an das regionale Brot gewöhnen.Wirklich gut zu erreichen ist die Stadt Arezzo, die uns mit ihrem Charme überzeugen konnte und in der wir einige schöne Abende verbracht haben. Die Stadt Florenz und den Ort Loro Ciuffena (Felsenschlucht mit Wasserfall und wilder Bademöglichkeit) können wir als Tagesausflüge empfehlen.k
