Fieno at Vecchio Fienile
Location address: Sant' Appiano - Barberino - Florence
To enter the house you pass the furnished terrace that is private to the house. From here there are great views of the surrounding hills. The front door brings you into a large bright and spacious lounge that has an arched window looking onto the terrace.

To the left of the lounge through an archway you enter the fully equipped kitchen. From this bright room there is an arched door that leads out onto another terrace.

A small hall leads off the lounge to the bedroom area. To the left of the hall there is a double bedroom that has a typical cast iron bed and excellent wooden furniture. The glazed terracotta floors that are found throughout the house enhance the room.

On the left of the hall is a white bathroom with shower and good fittings. At the end of the hall there is a small windowless bedroom with bunkbeds.

From the terraces there are good views of the countryside.

Fieno at Vecchio Fienile
Location address: Sant' Appiano - Barberino - Florence
Vecchio Fienile
The Vecchio Fienile is a collection of 5 houses that is located on the gentle slopes of the Chianti hills near the typical Tuscan hamlet of S. Appiano, which lies between Siena and Florence. This tranquil location has superb views of the surrounding countryside and is just 4km from the highway.

There is a large pool that lies in the gardens behind the building where in its raised position the pool enjoys the warmth of the sun the whole day. In its location slightly higher than the houses of the hamlet, the pool has complete privacy from windows of the houses although it is only 20 meters away. At one end of the pool there is a hydro massage.

In this characteristic hamlet there is ample covered parking and large communal gardens, although each house has its own private garden. The hamlet is ideally located with good access to many restaurants and shops in the area and to the main routes to historic towns.
There are open views around the Vecchio Fienile in this quiet and peaceful position.

Note that it is possible to arrive on any day from October 2011 to may 2012 inclusive at this property with minimum 4 nights stay.

Pool Info

The pool is situated behind the houses and has an excellent view of the surrounding countryside. It is ideal for relaxing and soaking up the warm Tuscan sun while enjoying a cool glass of wine.

At one end of the pool there is a hydromassage which can sooth all your stress away while you admire the superb view and landscape that surrounds you.
The pool is 7 x 14 meters and open from the first weekend of May to the last weekend of October. Pool towels are provided.

Nearest town

Sant'Appiano is a small picturesque hamlet which is 2km from Vecchio Fienile, in this hamlet there is a good restaurant and a small children's playground. Vecchio Fienile clients have special prices at the restaurant Antica Osteria di Vico, which is near Poggibonsi.
Poggibonsi is the nearest town which is about 5km away, here there are many shops and other amenities.

Pros La situation exceptionnelle de la maison. L'accueil chaleureux.

Pros Super ligging centraal t.o.v. alle bezienswaardigheden die we wilde bezoeken. Rust.mooi zwembad.rustige families in overige appartementen.snel op hoofdverbindingswegen.
Cons Geen kritiek.
Local attractions Restaurant in Sant Appieano,5min loopafstand. Echt typisch Italiaans eten.

Overall impression: Fantastic! it was important for us that in the house there were two different bedrooms with their own enters. Also two bathrooms was really good.
Highlights: Lying by the pool, barbequeing, having dinner outside....all the things!
Unpleasant surprises: Nothing

Thank you. We are very pleased with the service in To-Tuscany. The websites is very honest to the places and give you a Good indication about the locations. This time it was a very elegant place, just enough for the two of us. The owner spoke exellent english and was very helpfull. The pool and surroundings was perfect and the huge garden in exellent shape. All in all it was more than you can expect and for a fair price.
We feel now that we know our way around and we dont use so much time not finding our way. We managed to visit two wine festivals (Greve and Panzano) We went to Montalcino and bought a couple of Brunellos and one day we visited Isole e Olena for tasting. Perfect.
We are now looking into another place to hire for next year (If the websites is as correct as before we think about Fieline de Villole)But mind you, we could easily og back to Pietra or Molino the Rogante
Jon (Accommodation: Pietra)
overall impression: Very good. It exceeded what i’d seen online. It was spacious, clean, comfortable, quiet, everything we wanted. However, i wouldn’t have wanted to have slept in the windowless small second bedroom if there had been three of us. It was a perfect size for the two of us, and we could use the second bedroom as a store room.
highlights: Whilst we were staying at the Villa: we enjoyed our proximity to Siena and San G, as well as Florence. We found you could access the cities/towns so easily, but also the beautiful chianti countryside, either towards radda, or more locally. We loved the pool and its quiet location, and sitting watching the sunset outside the villa - wonderfully relaxing. Having had a week touring round in hotels, we found the villa the perfect antidote, it exceeded my (high) expectations, and we had a wonderful week. Thanks again.
unpleasant surprises: None... we just struggle with Italian opening times, no matter what we do, we always seemed to arrive at places when they were shut! Part of the charm of the holiday/italy though!
Alison (Accommodation: Fieno)
Excellent, very clean and the modern utilities made the holiday very relaxing.
The attention to detail in the construction of the apartment, and the excellent guide produced by Sean (invaluable for restaurants). The picturesque yet  tranquil surrounding countryside needs no words.(excellent)
Thanks again for such a wonderful break, we really did get to see and experience the real Italy.
Gary Ellis (accommodation: Paglia)
Fabulous location, beautiful villa, wonderful escape from it all. Exactly what we had hoped for but didn't believe we would get due to lateness of booking.
Peace and quiet. It was truly away from it all - if we had stayed in the villa and its surrounding area we would barely have seen another English person, which was perfect. At the same time the villa was excellently located for exploring some of the must-see parts of the region - Florence, Siena and San Giminagno all within 15 minutes drive.
The local village, Sant Appiano, was beautiful, producing a delicious Chianti and serving wonderful local cuisine at Il Pipolino.

I like To Tuscany, partly because it has a tremendous range of villas, and partly because (unlike many companies) it has an excellent website that provides what you really want when choosing a villa.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
