Villa Bibbianello, Bibbiano - Buonconvento - Siena and Chianti

We had our 3 adult sons, a partner and grandchild (2 years old). The villa was well set out and the pool was perfect (all one depth, so great for playing games plus it made it easier for an adult to stay next to the toddler everywhere in the pool). It was extremely hot, so we were primarily indoors in the evenings - the large dining table was great for meals and games. Kitchen was well supplied. The villa was spacious and secluded (nice not having to worry if toddler was loud), yet walking distance to a lovely restaurant and only 5 minutes drive to Buonconvento with lots of restaurants and a good-sized Coop. Would definitely recommend for large groups.

We only tried the restaurant in the local village on the last night as we ate in most evenings so we could enjoy the local wine. However the restaurant is only a 5 minute walk and was delightful - good food and friendly service. Our children had booked a cooking class for us in Sienna - fabulous day out. Our experience with Enza was once in a lifetime (you accompany her to local markets then cook a meal with her in her home) - the company is called Cesarine.

Het is een leuke villa met mooi zwembad in een zeer rustig gedeelte van Toscane. Mooi uitzicht over de vallei. Heerlijke plek om tot rust te komen.

Bij ristorante Pizzeria Le Antiche Mura in Buonconvento kan je heerlijke pizza's afhalen. Naast Siena zijn er veel leuke dorpjes in de buurt als Montalcino (van de Barollo wijn), Pienza en Castiglione d'Orcia. Ook het klooster van Monte Olivetto Maggiore is zeer de moeite waard.

After a 26 month delay due to the pandemic and travel restrictions, it was a real joy to finally get back to Tuscany. The Villa was just perfect for our family gathering with grown up children, their partners and our grandchildren. Victoria was the perfect hostess with a warm welcome and lots of contact during our stay; we had a couple of huge storms, including one that took out the electricity in the area and Victoria was quickly in touch to check if all was well and to reassure us.
The pool was used every day and was kept clean during our stay; it was particularly lovely in the evening as the setting sun lit up Montalcino and showed all the vines in the valley.
All in all, Villa Bibbianello is just perfect for a large group, ideally placed to explore but with enough near-by to mean you don't have to travel if you don't want to.

The village restaurant was excellent and the owner was very friendly. We 'discovered' a new place not far outside the village called Mulimum. It is a bakery using ancient grains to produce their own artisan flour. In the evening they serve excellent hand-made pizza outdoors with the most amazing landscape to watch the sun go down. From our base we visited Asiano, Siena, San Quirico, the Abbey of St Antimo and a longer day out to Perugia and Assisi. All very good. Montalcino and Pienza were overloaded in the busiest August for years, so we had to give those a miss. The children loved the gelato shop in Bounconvento, especially the Unicorn flavour!

Ein traumhaftes Objekt, super nette Vermieter, die sehr hilfsbereit sind und sich sofort kümmern, wenn etwas nicht funktioniert oder unklar ist. Können wir nur rundum empfehlen.

Sehr schöne Orte sind Montalcino und Montepulciano. Leider sind die Straßen oft im sehr schlechten Zustand. Sehr zu empfehlen ist das Restaurant "Il Bibbio" in Bibbianello, besonders die Mezze Maniche (Nudeln) und das Almond Cassata sind zu empfehlen.
