Villa Le Ferrette

Villa Le Ferrette is a large, typical Tuscan villa surrounded by a private garden which is well maintained and includes an extensive olive grove. From its hillside position the villa boasts an excellent view of the Tuscan towns in the valley below. It is also just a few minutes drive to the centre of Montecatini Terme.
On one side of the villa is the pool area which has fantastic views and is surrounded by a manicured lawn. The spacious sun-deck looks down to Montecatini Terme and the Valdinievole countryside.
This wonderful typical Tuscan villa is on three floors with plenty of space inside for all members of the group. The well maintained gardens are dotted with olive and fruit trees with traditional Tuscan stone walls lining the paths.
The lower level of the villa has a spacious living area with fireplace in one corner. On entering there is a large wooden dining table surrounded by chairs. To the other side of the room are several sofas and a couple of armchairs with a TV to one side. To the back of the room is a small library. The floor is completed by a bathroom and guest toilet.
The ground floor has a small sitting area with wooden cushioned armchairs chairs. To one side is a large bar with professional espresso machine. Going down some steps there is the dining room which has two wooden tables and chairs that seat up to 20 people. Both these rooms have polished terracotta floors and the traditional Tuscan ceiling of wooden beams and terracotta tiles.
Off the sitting area is the professional kitchen which is fully equipped and includes 9 gas hobs, oven, 2 fridges with freezer, 2 dishwashers and microwave. Also off the sitting area is a double bedroom with queen size bed and an en-suite bathroom with shower.
To the back of the dining room is a small hall off which there is another small single bedroom with queen size bed and an en-suite bathroom with shower.
The other two bedrooms on the ground floor have doors to the garden. One is a double room with a queen size bed and the other is a family bedroom with 1 double bed and 2 single beds. The family bedroom has 2 en-suite bathrooms both with showers and the double bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with shower.
From the bar area there are grey stone steps to the first floor. Here there seven bedrooms. One of these is a large twin room which has space to add a cot if necessary. There is a bathroom with shower en-suite to the room.
At the end of the hall are two twin bedrooms which are suitable for children or young adults. Both can be made into double rooms with queen size beds. These are too small to accommodate a cot. Each has an en-suite bathroom with shower.
All the other bedrooms are double rooms with queen size beds. Each room has an en-suite bathroom with shower. Only one of these rooms is not big enough to place a cot in. Five of the first floor bedrooms face out towards the pool area and the spectacular views that lay beyond.
The large property has an orchard, an olive grove, a pine forest and many paths for short walks within the grounds.
Double rooms cannot be made into twins.
Two of the twin rooms can become a double, please request this when booking if required.
In the extensive garden there is a large furnished terrace which also has a stone barbeque.
Air conditioning is charged extra.
There is an extra charge per animal for pets.

Pool Info
The private pool located to the back of the large villa. Just a short distance away from it across a lovely manicured lawn, lined with pretty paths. It is surrounded by a paved sun deck from which there is an amazing view of Montecatini Terme and the villages on the valley floor.
At the pool there are several comfortable sunbeds and umbrellas. This is an ideal place to enjoy the upper Tuscan landscape while relaxing in the quiet of the villa grounds.

Nearest town
Montecatini Term is the nearest town. Here there is a large selection of restaurants, shops and other amenities. There are also several thermal establishments. The centre of this town is about 1.5km from the villa.

I like To Tuscany, partly because it has a tremendous range of villas, and partly because (unlike many companies) it has an excellent website that provides what you really want when choosing a villa.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
